Anxiety - 5 weeks

Looking for a bit of reassurance, I've suddenly woke up with anxiety and thought I was bleeding, went to the toilet and there's nothing.

I've been having period pains for 3 days and had a scan yesterday morning which showed everything was fine, for some reason I don't have any symptoms apart from cramping and dark nipples and tiredness, I just don't feel like I am pregnant which is odd

Did anyone else have this and have a normal pregnancy I'm so scared to lose it 😔🤞🏼

You won't feel like you're pregnant yet... that's normal

Yes, even some bleeding - normal around that time as implantation bleeding when baby burrows further in

Try not to worry, scan is very positive sign.

Thank you so much! Honestly have the worst anxiety that I convinced myself I'm going to lose it but that's reassured me, they found a cyst on my ovary too so probably contributes to the pain x @incallthebloodytime

Been there! Lots of women report symptoms but at that stage most are psychosomatic - we tell ourselves we feel this or that due to pregnancy and believe it

And the physical symptoms are entirely normal that you report with a scan that looks fine - cramping, mild bleeding can just be implanting

The most concrete evidence you have is a good scan. It should reassure in early pregnancy but i often think early scans cause more anxiety than they reassure

And cysts can definitely cause pain!

Thank you, I just keep convincing myself I can feel blood and when I go to the toilet there's nothing there and I think it's anxiety starting to get the best of me, I agree - they found the sack and everything but I have another in two weeks just as they couldn't see a great deal which puts me on edge. I'm just glad the cramps are normal and your right they are painful which probably doesn't help x just wish I could get rid of this anxiety @incallthebloodytime

I had a scan around that time where they couldn't see much - spent a fortnight on bed rest terrified

Only to learn a fortnight later that it is entirely normal not to see much at that stage... after all it's a developing pregnancy and needs to develop to see much!

I also remember that the symptoms of early pregnancy I felt were really very similar to the symptoms of when your period is about to begin

Not every pregnancy is fine but honestly I can't see anything from what you've said to believe anything but all is normal and going well so far!

Drink plenty of water, vitamins etc and try and distract your mind as best you can from worrying. It's a long 9 months or even 10 months to start the fretting so early! With hindsight- trust me on that

Enjoy the development of your baby! I wish I had!

Thank you so much for reassuring me! I'll try calm myself down! It does feel like a period coming but I'm glad that's normal! Thank you! I'll try get some rest and just keep relaxed I really do hope it's all okay 🤞🏼Xx @incallthebloodytime

Also, now it is normal to get a lot more discharge than usual. This can make it feel as though you are leaking, but fortunately it’s not the wrong colour! I’m 11+5, and still check the toilet paper for blood every time. For me, this means a lot of celebrations! (No blood so far)

My symptoms (other than a random very tired day, which I misinterpreted as being from a difficult week at work) started at 5+5, with nausea which wasn’t actually a problem. It stayed pretty acceptable until about 6 weeks, at which point it started to become bad enough that I wasn’t really up to working. I think I have had pretty bad morning sickness, but at 5 weeks it wasn’t a problem yet. (Did my first day of work for a long time yesterday, at 11+4. It was OK, thankfully.) I think that if you end up getting acceptable symptoms, you are still very early for them. I wouldn’t worry if I were you. (This is a lie. I would worry, too. But chances are, you’ll be absolutely fine. That is the most likely outcome when you get pregnant, even though sometimes it feels impossible! Aren’t brains fun? Isn’t this pregnancy journey such a thrill? I think that getting pregnant and having children means you let an entire world of worrying into your life, and it is just like that. I tell myself that the worry is entirely normal, and try to be gentle with myself for doing it. Poor old me is having a bit of a difficult time right now, so I’m trying to be very gentle with her.)

Thank you, it's so scary! I'm just so tired I've been staying in bed which I probably shouldn't! I'm feeling very sorry for myself 😂

It's a nightmare I convince myself something is going to happen but your right it will probably be okay, I'm glad your starting to feel a bit better, work is so tiring I'm starting to find I don't want to go even at this early so I'll be in the same boat soon x

Thank you xx @Spargle
