Hi,

I'm sorry for the confusion, but, is the amniocentesis test routine? I thought the ultrasound and bloods were all I needed and they came back low risk.. Confused

Thank you

Amnio is only offered if you are high risk for downs - it's definitely not routine.... have you been given an appointment for one?

JustMe18 · 05/12/2018 08:24

@MakeAWhish Ah, good! No, I haven't been offered an appointment. I'm signed up to 'week by week' pregnancy emails and today's led me to believe that it was going to happen between 16 and 18 weeks regardless. Very misleading!!

Ah ok. If your results are high risk, an amino would be offered generally between weeks 15-20 of pregnancy.

JustMe18 · 05/12/2018 08:43

Thankfully my results are low risk - I appreciate you getting back to me.

Is the site you get your updates on American? They are routinely offered there.

JustMe18 · 05/12/2018 09:55

@mortifiedmama No, its UK based.. Perhaps they are just listing the possible tests, but, need to be clearer on what they are saying!!
