Confusion over LMP date

Sorry, it's long!
I did a test on Monday and it's positive!!!
We're a bit stunned but pleased. It doesn't really feel real yet. We have a 20 month old and had discussed trying for number 2, but have a lot coming up in the next few months - a big move (country), new jobs....
I've had previous issues so am supposed to have an early scan in all future pregnancies at 7-8 weeks.
Here's the issue. I'd been keeping track of my periods in an app. As we weren't trying, I wasn't paying too much attention, but they were regular. My phone broke at the end of October. I was without a phone for 2 weeks, and have my new one 4 weeks. It just occurred to me that I hadn't had a period since the new phone, and I really don't think I had one while between phones. So that's 6 weeks ago, minimum.
I phoned the local EPU yesterday, and they said yes, I do get an early scan, when was my LMP?
I don't know the date, but it was October.
When did you get a positive test?
Monday.
Ok we'll count from then, you can have a scan in January!!!!
I told her I have a regular cycle, but she wouldn't budge. By my (admittedly very rough) estimation I should be having 12 week scan around the same time.
So two issues!

  1. The 12 week scan - what usually happens when people have no idea of LMP, how is the 12 week scan date decided?
  2. What do I do about the early scan - should I suddenly "remember" the date and phone them back? The test said 3+weeks, but she said they ignore that. I know I'm at least 6 weeks and possibly more (we've also been incredibly busy, so haven't been having sex much, - we can both remember the exact occasion it was, but neither of us can put a day, date, or week to it)
Aggghh

if you had a regular cycle I would simply go back and have a look when your LMP was likely to be due and use that as a date. Have you been to your GP to get referred for your 12 week scan and midwife etc? As for the early scan you will be too late in January so I would call back and ask to speak to someone else as using the date you found out your pregnant is madness.... I know people that found out when they were 4 mths!

I know I had a regular cycle, but have lost all dates with the app on the broken phone.

If you're lmp was in October, you'd be due an12 week scan in January. Do you think they've misunderstood your request and have just calculated your routine 12 week scan? I'd guesstimate your lmp and call them back to schedule your early scan.

Oh, sorry, and congratulations!

I was told i wouldn’t have kids so after a few weeks of feeling sick I tested and it was positive.
I couldn’t even remeber the last time we had sex so I had no idea how far along.

We went for a private scan 2 weeks after testing and I was 12+3 by then.

Maybe if you have funds you could get a private one ?
