Hey my lovelies ❤️

I've just reached 33 weeks of my pregnancy... thank the Lord!

But again I've found myself with another problem!!!

I can't stop sleeping on my back! I keep reading about how dangerous this can be but there's really no other way that I'm comfortable... I've invested in a pregnancy pillow which worked for a few night but again I woke up on my back!

Also I was wondering how the heck do you stay asleep for a whole night with needing to wee 6+ times a night & scare a little biscuit 😂

Waking up on your back isn't an issue as long as you start on your side and turn to your side when you realise that you are on your back.

My midwife told me this:

"If lying on your back in pregnancy was that dangerous, the human race would have died out a long time ago"

Do what PP said, you'll both be fine.

It's to do with you putting pressure on one of the blood vessels. My midwife said that you'll naturally wake up if your body is not happy so not to worry about waking up on my back. I have a pregnancy pillow that goes all the way round me which means I can't actually roll. (Or switch side, get out of bed - but that's a separate issue 😂). If you've already got one, I wouldn't invest in another unless it's really affecting you.

As a pp said, if you are waking up frequently to go to the toilet you should just make sure you lie on your side when you get back in to bed.

As the weeks progress you will also probably find that lying on your back is increasingly uncomfortable as the weight of the baby on your bladder/organs gets more. Tbh I’m shocked you are still comfy on your back at 33 weeks! I haven’t been able to bear the feeling since about 25!

@Daffodil77

Is that the U shaped pillows that at the size of your body? I have one of those and I just find it mostly makes me too hot 🥵

@MonkeyToucher

I'm not very comfortable on my sides because of where my baby's laying... there's no chance of getting comfortable on my tummy so on my back sat a little upright is perfect 😌

In previous pregnancies I found lying on my sides gave me palpitations and also terrible hip pain. Then I'd hit 8 months and suddenly couldn't sleep on my back so sides it was...and no sleep...
