Any recommendations very welcome! At the moment (22 weeks) I'm still fitting into some of my more generous tops and sports bras but it's really not that comfortable. Wondering if people just got cheap stuff and sized up or does anyone do specialised gear that's worth the money?

I love the Gap athletic leggings really comfy and worth the money. Tops I just got long ones from H&M a size up and I wore my maternity bras as found my sports bras too tight over the back and uncomfortable

I didn’t find anywhere that did maternity cycle clothing, or anything other than generic “yoga pants”. Nothing suitable for serious running or cycling. I fitted regular stuff till about 24 weeks when I had to give up anyway on medical advice. But it would have been nice to be able to buy a few bits. I did email wiggle customer services and ask, just got a generic response back.

I just wear my normal leggings and roll them down under my bump and a bigger t shirt. Have bought a couple of bigger sized bras in more of a t-shirt style. Would struggle to run in them but only stopped cycling at about 30 weeks and doing lots of yoga / stretching in the same gear now. It's not perfect but ive managed ok.

I got some great leggings, a vest and a sports bra from seraphine.

Expensive, but have lasted me from 22 weeks until now (38 weeks) xx

I searched everywhere a few years back, there's not much about! I got some 3/4 leggings for running / gym etc but the fabric was cotton and I would have preferred Lycra similar to normal running gear...

I wore Gap maternity leggings to exercise in. One pair, a more expensive over bump one was decent quality but didn't fit before 24 weeks and didn't fit after 32 weeks. Before and after that I wore a cheaper under bump pair. I also wore cheap mens tech t-shirts in increasing sizes of large, x-large, xx-large, etc. In regards to sports bras I ended up with 3 shock absorbers in increasing sizes though I managed to source my larger 2 on sale at half price. After 20 weeks until I gave up at 34 weeks my exercise was spinning. I gave up because my gym changed it timetable for the summer so my classes weren't on. I was actually planning to give up a week before I was induced so would have stopped exercising at 38 weeks.

I did look for specific exercise maternity wear but couldn't find any.

I just wore my old stuff. I was huuuuge ( has a short torso and a big baby) butI had a pair of old 3/4 length Nike tights, a couple of pairs of Adidas shorts (all worn under the bump), some old bib shorts (for cycling) and a few vests. The only thing I bought specifically for pregnancy was a new Shock Absorber as my boobs got much bigger. I worked out until I went into labour at 41 weeks.

Well, if you don't feel comfortable on your old clothes then buy another exercise clothes and this time please take care of to buy a little larger size so if you gain weight in next few months then same clothes will be helpful to you and you don't need to buy another time.

Just to add, I’m 33 weeks and my bump is enormous and I’m still super comfy in my gap ones so I really would recommend them. I think they were about £35 but worth it as I’ve worn them so much.

GroundhogWeek · 05/12/2018 17:25

I got some good shorts for running from Fitta Mamma. Tops wise I’ve just worn the larger race tops I had stashed at the back of a drawer.

I had some maternity leggings from H&M (try eBay), ordered a top from ASIS but sent it back as it was no better than a looser fit one I already had.
