Hi I'm 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant, my expected AF should be around now and I have mild- moderate period pains the same as I would have it's just without the bleeding, is this normal?

I got period pains for quite a few days (without knowing I was pregnant) but the period didn't come. So then I did the test a week or two later.

I think it's fairly common? Don't know if I could say it's "normal". Am so glad I didn't know I was pg and therefore stressing over it - the early tests you can now get are a bit of a mixed blessing imo.

I had cramps up until around 6 weeks. I think it’s normal as your uterus starts to get ready for growing your baby :)

Emsi00 · 03/12/2018 19:35

Thank you both, I got a scan on Wednesday just to check it's all okay, I didn't think I was thought here we go AF will come tonight and then it came up but the cramps still there and the headaches are constant, hopefully everything's shows up okay on the scan even though I don't think you see much at 5 weeks and hopefully get a midwife soon for reassurance xx @A580Hojas @Stephisaur

I had this too, like mild period pains. Then I had some really severe cramping but it turned out to be trapped wind Blush

goldopals · 04/12/2018 07:56

It is normal. It freaked me out like anything, but it is just your insides stretching

Emsi00 · 04/12/2018 10:52

Thank you for the reassurance. I went to GP today as I couldn't walk without crouching into a ball! Really scared me as I just want baby to be okay 😔 got sent up to A&E currently on a 6 hour wait on my own 🤞🏼 fingers crossed I waited 6 hours for good news @goldopals @Triskaidekaphilia

@emsi00 hope all is ok! I’m 14 weeks today and I still have the cramps and pains can be very worrying but according to midwife all is normal xx

Emsi00 · 04/12/2018 17:00

Thank you! Congratulations💜 I hope it's all okay @Kayleigh121

How did you get on at a&e @Emsi00? Everything ok?

Emsi00 · 04/12/2018 21:09

Thank you for asking, they did a examination and no blood inside and nothing too concerning, I've got a scan at 10 tomorrow although they might not see much, and blood tests to check hormones. I still have period pain but nothing too bad now xx @Triskaidekaphilia

I'm sure everything will be fine. I spoke to the doctor today as I'm still occasionally having cramping as well, she wants to do a urine test tomorrow to rule out a uti but says its probably fine :)

Emsi00 · 04/12/2018 21:32

It's nice to have someone ask if I'm okay and reassure me, my partner suddenly changed his idea and decided lads holidays are more important and getting drunk like a 18 year old again...been sat up the hospital on my own - i hope everything is fine! Let me know how you get on x @Triskaidekaphilia

Oh I'm sorry, what a shithead! Hopefully its just a shock thing but awful behaviour regardless. Today was my first appointment with the GP, and after referring me to the midwife, the way she was talking about next seeing her when I come for my 6 week check up after birth was so positive and made me feel a lot less paranoid about MC. After hearing of my early symptoms she did ask us if theres any twins in our families though Shock

Emsi00 · 04/12/2018 22:20

Yeah just acting like a child himself 😂 and ah that's such good news, oh gosh, have you got any twins in the family? That would be a surprise ☺️ @Triskaidekaphilia

Not in mine! DH thinks his uncles are fraternal twins but I believe fraternal only runs down the mothers side as it'd mean releasing two eggs. DH really hopes its not! DH is a bit terrified of the idea, I wouldn't mind but acknowledge it would make a lot of things harder! It's been crossing my mind already since I noticed my symptoms came so early but I thought it was just me being weird until the doctor asked Blush At the same time hormones have always messed me up- bad reactions to contraceptives, nausea before periods- so I think it may just be how I'm wired!

Emsi00 · 05/12/2018 11:47

I would be terrified if I had twins, I'm like that I have symptoms so early and my body is weird I notice every little thing😂 hopefully just the one healthy baby on it's way x

Had a scan today and everything looking good, they found my left Ovary has a cyst but they can't do anything now 🤞🏼
