Hi all,

I'm so confused by the Chicco next to me instructions.

How high does the lip on the mattress need to be above the next to me. It says 2cm but is that maximum or minimum?

This is how I have it at the moment and not sure if this is correct ant the mattress is too high.

It's on the maximum 6 setting for height too.

Can anyone help a very confused 38 weeks pregnant idiot! Thank you

I think its a minimum, so the baby can't roll onto your bed. It'll be fine too have a bigger gap like yours, although it may be more awkward for you lifting the baby out in the night. Probably not the end of the world though.

Thank you, yes ideally it like it to be a bit more level to easily feed but concerned about this being dangerous but now sure how it could be.

The images I've seen all seem to have the mattress a lot lower.

It's maximum, due to the risk of suffocation.

We had to buy a snuzpod as the chicco wasn't high enough for our bed.

Oh that's interesting.

I agree with mortifiedmama, I really wanted a next to me but when I measured the height of my bed from floor to top of mattress there was about 6cm difference in mattress heights, the concern is that baby puts their face up against the side of your mattress.
I had heard someone who put two mattresses on top of eachother in the next to me to get it to the correct height? You could try that as is a shame to not be able to use it now you have it.
Congratulations by the way

I would try to reduce the gap - can you lift the cot higher somehow? Stand it on big books etc? It won't serve its purpose as well with such a drop between the two mattresses, as will be harder to get baby in and out and baby will feel further away.
