Dont get me wrong im certainly not complaining!!! Just not a symptom ive heard of or read about?

Like before I was pregnant if i didnt shave for 2 weeks id have hairier legs than my fella. But now? Ive gone nearly 4 months and only got like 2 weeks worth of growth... Grin
Again im deffo not complaining, i cant imagine contouring my body to shave is the comfiest thing in the world at 7 months pregnant!

Yep, same happened to me both pregnancies. Unfortunately it doesn’t last after the baby arrives 😕

Vitalogy · 03/12/2018 07:13

I was just reading this:
During pregnancy your hair will become thicker. This is because of higher levels of the hormone estrogen, which prevents normal hair loss, according to the March of Dimes website. Hair stays in the resting phase, catagen, longer than usual and fewer hairs enter the telogen phase, creating a thicker, fuller head of hair. For most women this is also due to added nutrition or prenatal vitamins. Your hair will seem to have stopped growing but it is not a permanent change.

Happened to me! I'm a hairy mary and was heavily pregnant in the summer so it was soo good! Hair came back after baby was born though along with some chin and neck hair so enjoy while can lol!

mashpot · 03/12/2018 07:15

Do you know if you’re having a girl? A very unscientific study of friends and family found this happened when pregnant with a girl!

GrandmaSharksDentures · 03/12/2018 07:16

Happened to me too - I had a boy

captainshortie · 03/12/2018 07:31

I just noticed this yesterday!!! I went to shave my legs after, ahem, some time, and realised they weren't even very hairy. Was baffled but now I have an explanation!

Same here, it's great Grin
I was also told it means you're having a girl.

Busyfool · 03/12/2018 10:01

I have found the same thing- had heard that hormone changes can affect hair growth/ slower hair loss. (Also the old wife's tale of having a girl- I'm expecting a girl) 😜

Worieddd · 03/12/2018 12:14

This is weird as I’m a proper hairy mary but my leg hairs are sparse as well.

Just my legs though my fanny and pits are WILD

captainshortie · 03/12/2018 12:20

😂😂😂 @Worieddd same!! Haha its like they didnt get the message!

This is one of the major benefits I get whenever I’m pregnant!

0lgaDaPolga · 03/12/2018 13:02

This happened to me in both pregnancies (both boys if that makes any difference) I am not complaining. I’m 40 weeks now and it is veeeeery difficult to reach most bits of my leg (not to mention elsewhere 🙈)

Angharad07 · 03/12/2018 13:40

Do you know what...I haven’t shaved my legs in 3 months and they’re pretty much hairless! I’m due in 2 days. How weird!

Angharad07 · 03/12/2018 13:41

Oh and I’m having a boy

captainshortie · 03/12/2018 20:01

I feel like more women should talk about it! Only ever seem to get told the doom and gloom.
Seems like a pretty good 'symptom' to me!

I'm the same and used to have to shave every other day! I have two kids already and 33 weeks pregnant with 3rd. My first was a boy and I was hairy as anything, second was girl and no hair growth this baby is also a girl and again no hair growth.

autumnboys · 03/12/2018 23:28

My sister and I both had this in all our pregnancies (we both had all boys). I loved it, was so sad when it went back to normal.

ForAMinuteThere · 04/12/2018 12:08

Happened to me too! No excessive regrowth to report.

halfwitpicker · 04/12/2018 12:10

They grow less in winter too.

brodiee · 04/12/2018 13:57

I had this when I was preg with my DS and I have it again now I'm preg with no 2! Don't know the sex. It's brilliant, I'm like a woolly mammoth normally 😂
