I’m about 20 weeks with DC2 and I feel totally flat. This was a planned pregnancy and I didn’t think I could have children, so I know how incredibly luck I am to be pregnant for a second time but I just don’t seem to be feeling the same sort of excitement I did with my first pregnancy (which was a total unplanned surprise). I feel so guilty and that this baby deserves so much better than a mother that cant get excited about it’s arrival. Everyone keeps asking me if I’m just so over the moon and I just keep lying and smiling but internally I’m just dreading night feeds and reflux (DC1 was a really tricky baby). Anyone else have a similar experience?

When you put it like that rockinrobin it makes an awful lot of sense really. I guess it would be a little naive to be as excited again when you know what’s coming

I’m 25 weeks pregnant with baby no.3 and am the exact same. I was the same with baby no.2 as well but as soon as she was born everything changed. She’s 7 now, my eldest is 11 and we all have an amazing bond. So I’m not worried about not bonding with bump yet as I know I will when he’s here 😊

@awwshit now I’m a bit more open about it I’m increasingly hearing this. That everything changes once they come along so I’m feeling a lot less guilty about everything now.
I’ve put DD an extra day into nursery this week and am going to go and pick up a couple of newborn bits to try and get a bit more into the spirit of things.
Hope everyone else is okay
