Has anyone been diagnosed with preeclampsia at 29 weeks and managed to hold on to baby until further along in the pregnancy?
I'm currently hospitalised and being treated for Pre-E. I have been given steroids in preparation for possible delivery over the next few days or week, though I have been told this is more precautionary than any solid plans to deliver at this moment.
I am absolutely terrified of what may come.
I have a DD, 10 whose Christmas will be about visiting her sister in NICU if she pulls through or visiting me in hospital. I am sick at the thought of it.
I am hoping today I get a more sure answer from the doctors.
Is preeclampsia always a case of delivering very quickly?
If they decide to put me on bed rest until I'm further along will it mean I miss Christmas with my family?
My BP has come down very well with the help of medication (though the nurses assistant has been taking my BP overnight and putting the cuff on my elbow instead of top of my arm, so not sure if it's accuracy). Is this likely to persuade docs to allow me to continue longer with the pregnancy?
Sorry for all the questions. My mind is racing and I'm not getting clear answers from medical staff, so other people's experiences would be appreciated.
