and is it true it means a girl?

I thought mine had gone at around 8 weeks, but came back a week later. Still got it 12 weeks gone. Luckily not actually sick often but lemonade, ginger biscuits etc are not longer taking edge off. Have tried seabands and they dont work for me. Getting headaches too.

I am not moaning because I am truely happy to be pregnant but just wondering how much longer this part is meant to go on for.

(getting a little bump now too )

no both my sister had extreme morning sickness and both went on to have boys.

MrsMar · 22/06/2007 21:09

Mine carried on until week 16, a bit on and off from week 12.

MrsMar · 22/06/2007 21:09

oh, and I'm having a boy

loobylooby · 22/06/2007 21:11

Two girls - sick as a dog with both and on both occasions lasted until approx 17th week

WigWamBam · 22/06/2007 21:12

Mine only stopped once dd was delivered ...

skirmish · 22/06/2007 21:13

i had morning sickness up til around 13/14 wks, but was never sick, just felt nauseaus from around 4pm til 11pm - had a boy

this time round was nauseaus all day - and occassionally sick, but think i dealt with it better as i knew what was happening (and knew i wasn't going to vomit everywhere!). It stopped around 12/13wks (i think) - don't know what this one is

steph69 · 22/06/2007 21:24

Sorry to see that Ihad it all thru' both my pregnancies and I had 2 girls. Just something i had to learn to live with and I ate when I could. Feeling for you!

mummydoc · 22/06/2007 21:27

until the baby was about 12 hrs old with dd1 and about 1 week old with dd2 ... sorry!

estobi1 · 22/06/2007 21:47

I am still vomitting a couple of times a week at 22 weeks! First preganancy stopped by 13 weeks. Think I am more stressed out this time though

MamaMaiasaura · 22/06/2007 21:52

ewww. Not what I was hoping to hear. Have tried chocolate and sipping lemonade.. not worked tonight either. JUst feel guilty because I feel like I am moaning that I feel sick all the time. I know pregnancy isnt an illness and this is so much wanted and we are all very excited too.. just didnt count on this sickness as dont recall it being like this with ds.

stopped about 13/14 weeks

sick with 1st, not so much with second (with constant nausea in between)

both boys!

BetsyBoop · 23/06/2007 09:48

mine eventually subsided at about 20wks with both pregnancies.

Some unlucky women get it all the way through

becklespeckle · 23/06/2007 13:12

I get evening nausea rather than morning sickness.
With DS1 I had it from 9 weeks to 13 weeks.
With DS2 I had it from 9 weeks to 16 weeks.
With this pg I had it from 6 weeks and it started to ease off about a week ago! I am now 13 weeks. I did have a break at 9 weeks where it was much better for a couple of days but then it got much much worse for a couple of weeks!
Now I feel almost human again although am still off of a lot of foods!

Bouquetsofdynomite · 23/06/2007 13:27

I had all-day nausea and thrice-daily vomits until 16wks my first time (girl). Then the same nausea with once-daily vomit until 12wks the second time (boy).
By the second one I had worked out that the answer was keeping up blood sugar levels and not going an hour without carbs. Keep wrapped toffees and a can of Sevenup or Sprite (all sugar, no sweetners) in your handbag.
I've since been told that making sure your salt intake is adequate can make a difference to MS as most people try to cut down when pg.
Good luck, it really is like the baby's trying to poison you isn't it?

flibbertyjibbet · 23/06/2007 13:40

My all-day-but-worse-in-the-mornings relationship with the toilet bowl stopped about 2 days before i went into labour first time, didn't stop at all 2nd time (elective section) and I had two boys. Neither of which was born with much hair for those that think loads puking = thick hair on a baby.
Nowadays I puke at the thought of eating any thing with ginger in it

BetsyBoop · 23/06/2007 19:08

I'm with you on the ginger FJ

I used to love ginger, but ate so much of anything with ginger in it in my first pregnancy (not that it helped much anyway....) that I still can't stand the sight or smell of it...

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 23/06/2007 19:10

when i gave birth. all 3 times. and after the first and third i puked about 30mins after giving birth as well.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/06/2007 22:02

ewww feel like want to be ick now. DP is making cheese on toast for me, hopefully that will help.
