Anterior placenta 25 weeks- movement stress!!!

Anyone else constantly worrying about movement with anterior placenta?

I’m 25 weeks, movements had been quite strong and regular. Last couple of days they’d seemed quieter- so when I went for my whooping cough jab yesterday they kindly had a listen in and all seemed fine. But the midwife said never to put less movement down to anterior placenta and always get it checked if it seems abnormal- even though yesterday she also said I was only feeling less because she’s right behind my placenta. I’m going to end up practically living in triage for the next 3 months!!! I’m so paranoid, even when things are quiet for a couple of hours!!!!

I know exactly how you feel, I'm now 35+2 with my 5th baby and have an anterior placenta, at 25wks I don't think I was feeling a lot of movements either so I was constantly worried, even now I still worry if baby has been a bit quieter on certain days, it was only when I started hitting week 30's I think that movements became a bit more noticeable.

I've been to Maternity more times than I can remember and been referred for growth scans, etc.. to check placenta and growth.

I would always say if your worried to go and just get checked out to put your mind at rest, they don't mind, it's what they are there for and all the midwives I've met have been pretty lovely and reassuring, I've never regretted going not once!

As soon as baby is hooked up to machine I can guarantee she will go wild, making me feel like a fraud, lol! But it's always best to be safe!

When are you due?

21 weeks here with dc3. Discovered anterior placenta last week at scan which explains why so much less movement so far this pregnancy. Has been more regular this last week but today... nada. I’ve been really busy so am lying in bed prodding bump and hoping I just haven’t noticed when it’s wriggling.

@Chunk9 I am exactly the same. 25 weeks with anterior placenta. I felt very strong movements from 14 weeks. Then the last couple of weeks it’s been so gentle and no way as regular. I heard the heartbeat with midwife. But triage said it’s too early for me to have a pattern of movement and baby has likely moved.

I am soooo tempted to pay for a private scan at the weekend (have a 4d scan booked for 2 weeks time though).

Have you actually been seen at triage yet?

Thanks all.

I’m due 13th March.

Haven’t actually been to triage yet, the midwife just had a listen in on Thursday. I’ve done a lot of running around the last few days. Maybe I need to put my feet up and see what I feel 😞
