Obviously showing at 14 weeks?

I am 14 weeks today with my second pregnancy & I have a baby bump equivalent to my 20 week bump with DC 1! Is this normal? I’m not sure how much weight I’ve put on (I’m in denial & refuse to weigh myself) but I feel so fat & frumpy! Sad

Yes. I was in maternity clothes at 6 weeks with my 2nd!

BeautifulBlue · 30/11/2018 14:15

Really @cottonsock? I haven’t been able to wear jeans for weeks... living in leggings. But I just feel it’s so early to be obviously ‘pregnant’ so I just keep trying to hide this fat gut! It’s really not easy - everything looks shit! I’m really grateful to be pregnant again, & it’s a much wanted pregnant I’m not normally this vain! But it’s really depressing having basically nothing to wear you don’t feel like a whale in. Roll on 20ish weeks where I can confidently blame pregnancy for this round belly! 🤣

It's mostly bloat, not that that will make you feel much better. Blush
I couldn't believe the size of me, but it's probably just our view of ourselves.

I showed pretty much immediately second time around. I just embraced it and wore only maternity clothes from 12 weeks onwards.

harrypotterfan1604 · 30/11/2018 14:27

First baby here but by 10 weeks I was so bloated I couldn’t wear my normal jeans had to go into leggings for a while until I finally gave in and bought maternity jeans about 18 weeks 🙈

UnderMajorDomoMinor · 30/11/2018 14:31

I showed before 12 weeks with both!

TakingtheLeap · 30/11/2018 14:32

First baby here - 11 weeks, short and (was!) relatively slim - have got a definite pot belly and am entirely expecting to look very obviously pregnant in a couple of weeks. I'll be glad once the 12 week scan is past and I can stop worrying about wearing baggy clothes.

MrsKoala · 30/11/2018 14:56

I ballooned within 3 weeks of all my pregnancies. With my first I was showing obviously at 6 weeks and people at work were asking how far along I was. By 6 months people were saying 'oh it must be any day now'. Everyone was saying it must be twins. It meant I seemed to be pregnant forever. People were saying 'have you not had that baby yet you must be really overdue?' I would say I've still got 3 months to go!! At 3 months I was bigger than people who were due.

BeautifulBlue · 30/11/2018 15:40

So glad I’m not alone 🙏🏼 Full expecting the ‘twins’ comment & YOURE HUGE! Yeah ta, thanks... hadn’t noticed Hmm

To be fair I really loved being big. I took all my ' Shock fuck me you're massive' comments very proudly - and felt extremely beautiful (I even had a naked photo shoot at 7 months with my first Shock ). It must have been the hormones! Try to embrace your expanding beautiful body OP.

BeautifulBlue · 30/11/2018 16:52

@MrsKoala that’s lovely! I really think I’ll embrace & love my body much more once I’m further along & obviously pregnant (I did with my 1st) I think it’s just this inbetween sort of chubby not pregnant looking stage that makes me feel shit! I feel like I have to tell everyone just to have an excuse for the podge 🤣

This is what I’m managing. I’m 11 weeks in about 50 minutes. The bump is mostly fat and the bloating from drinking half a pint of water in a hurry. It’s also bad posture, but I’m not holding in the bloat because ouch. If I poke my stomach muscles, I can now feel that they are not flat like they used to be, but unfortunately I don’t think that is a significant proportion of my impressive physique.

I’m not really going to get away with hiding this pregnancy, am I?

I don't know if it's normal, but I looked second trimester at 14 weeks with my second. Some of us just carry bigger, and your body gives up earlier when you've done it before!

0lgaDaPolga · 01/12/2018 12:51

Yep really normal. First time I didn’t show at all until 20 weeks. I didn’t even tell work until 18 weeks and no one had a clue. This time I had a very obvious bump by 10/11 weeks. It was a lot bigger than first time round early one but wasn’t any bigger later on in the pregnancy. I’m 40+2 today and it’s around the same size as this point last time
