Drinking at Christmas

Hello :)

Me and my partner are trying for baby number 2! With our son I fell pregnant quite quickly, so if this happens again I MAY be pregnant over Christmas... obviously due to periods and ovulation I probably won't be able to test until the end of December so over Christmas I won't know for sure if I am pregnant or not...

So what I'm asking is would you risk having a little drink over the Christmas period? I don't drink tons anyway but maybe a glass of wine here and there...

Any thoughts would be grateful Smile

Toxins pass via placenta which you def won't have over Christmas!!

Drink til it’s pink!

I'd certainly be drinking over Christmas if you don't know you are pregnant!

Definitely have a drink... if you want to go low alcohol you could always make mulled wine with lots of orange juice in

If I was worried about that, I'd just wait until January to try. As pp said, it doesn't pass to baby that early though.

Absolutely, drink. Wonderful if you get a quick positive but better to assume it might take a few months and not deny yourself anything in the meantime.

I wouldn't, but it depends how guilty you'd feel if you were pregnant. I had a sober Xmas last year because it fell in the 2ww... then AF came along and so I had a very boozy NYE to make up for it. No regrets there.

However a few months later I got drunk the day AF was due after getting a BFN, then a few days later I got a positive result and was racked with guilt about the drinking... which was then amplified when the pregnancy failed the next day!

I would absolutely drink at Christmas! Maybe don't over do it if you think there's a chance, but if it's too early to test it's not going to do any harm

I had a good few drinks about 5 days before I found out, but do you know what, I'm glad I did ! It was a family occasion and I never get to drink with my family, and obviously will miss out over Christmas now so I'm glad I enjoyed myself

No I wouldn't risk it. It is most dangerous to drink in the first trimester.

Many people drink without knowing they are pregnant (Some very heavily) so I think you will be fine.
