When did you feel broody again?

Just wondering if what I'm going through is common.

My baby is 10 months old and this past month I have felt ridiculously broody! I'm not actually sure I want another child, I think if we decided to have another it wouldn't ideally be for 3-4 years so not sure where this feeling is coming from - mother nature I suspect!

DS born Aug 2015, felt broody again March 2017, DD born April 2018.

It came in waves. Straight after birth. 10 months. 22 months. 34 months. It seemed to be every time my son was about to turn a different age.

When DS was 4 months I was ridiculously broody but thankfully couldn't have sex and wasn't ovulating. It passed fairly quickly and never came back (DS is 3).

I'm now pregnant with DC2 but that's another story.

DD is 6 months old, I’d love to have another ASAP... just the money and work issue 😂

12 months for me. I found the first 9 months quite difficult and DS really got alot easier after & was finally sleeping well. K went from never having anything one, to maybe one day, to suddenly it was all I could think about. DH wasn't on the same page though so I've had to put my broodiness to one side for a while.

I was bizarrely broody right after DS2 was born and for several months. Then he started eating solids, my periods returned, and ping, the feeling went away.

Broodiness is often hormonal and fairly transient. Try not to ascribe too much importance to it. By itself it definitely isn't reason to try for another.

At 5 months- but it passed and I wondered what madness had taken over my mind briefly! Now that DS is 10mo and life is good, easy and enjoyable, I’m starting to feel broody again. It’s annoying because i rationally know we shouldn’t go for another now... but it’s not a rational feeling, is it?!

When my PND went at 2.5 years after DD1!

Flamingosnbears · 29/11/2018 13:58

DS born 2014 DD born 2016 LO Due 2019

cc4490 · 29/11/2018 14:05

My DS is 18months and I've been broody for about 9 months.
The time isn't right for another for us, we'd be too cramped in our house and we're not in a position to move yet but I'm aching for another!
It's a bit ridiculous but sometimes I get so broody I actually cry!

About two months after DC1 and I was pregnant again by the time he was six months Grin. Whereas I didn’t feel broody whatsoever after DC2 but was pregnant again six months later, that’s a whole other story... Had a six year gap between DC3 and DC4 who is four weeks old. Definitely not feeling broody, just shattered Grin.

8DaysAWeek · 29/11/2018 14:55

A week after he was born I couldn't wait for another. But that feeling didn't last too long haha. Started thinking about trying again when he was around a year old.
Pregnant with DC2 now and DS is 2.5yo

myotherbagisgucci · 29/11/2018 15:03

Pretty much soon after our first was born. DD1 is now 11 months and I'm 24 weeks with DD2! 😊 (This will definitely be our last though)
