Might be a stupid question but is it ok for me to get my hair dyed in 2 weeks? I'll only be 7 weeks preggo?

Yes, I had my done all the time. Dyes are not made in the same way as they used to be so are not a problem. If you’re concerned just call your hairdresser in advance to double check. I also have my eyebrows done regularly.

Thank you 😊

Yes

Supposedly yes, but personally I didn’t think it was worth the risk, however tiny.

Definately do it. I reasoned that if hairdressers are allowed to work handling and inhaling the fumes for 9 months, then it wasn’t likely to hurt me for an hour every 8 weeks. And it definately wasn’t going to soak through my scalp, or get eaten, or injected.

If you do it yourself then Garnier Olia is ammonia free. I used this every 3 weeks in pregnancy!

Stickmanslittleleaf · 28/11/2018 21:52

Yes you can. I was a heavy user of the home bleach variety when I was pregnant with dd1. The worry is nothing to do with fumes but all to do with your changing hormones and shit and you may find your skin is more likely to react so you should do a strand test every time. My dye didn't affect me at all but my fake tan sure did from about 20wks, went on with a green tinge as though it was old and didn't last well. I had to change face cream too because my usual one started stinging and irritating my skin.

It's totally safe but be mindful your scalp might be a bit more sensitive than normal. I couldn't leave mine on as long as I normally would when I dyed my hair at 26 weeks.

Yes of course! I get full head of highlights every 6 weeks and I'm pregnant. And did the same when pregnant with DD.

Stephisaur · 28/11/2018 22:43

Yep :)

Mine has faded quicker though while I’ve been pregnant, so if you’re bothered about roots then take that into account as a possibility!
