Bra measurements

I got measured for a bra today and I also want to buy some nursing bras as I intend to breast feed.

From what I hear my boobs will get a lot bigger just after giving birth when they start producing milk but I am not sure what size to buy and I won't be wanting to go out bra shopping days after giving birth. Has anybody else bought nursing bras before giving birth and how did they know what size to buy?

Sorry I know this sounds like a really stupid question.

Mothercare and M&S both advised me to go get measured at 38/39 weeks as they know roughly how much to add on by then.

Do the measurement yourself following the boob or bust website for advice on how.

Buy some stretchy bras for the first few weeks then measure again once your milk settles a bit. I don't know a single person who got measured pre birth whose nursing bras fitted them 6 weeks post partum. It's impossible to say how big they'll grow or how quickly your rib cage will shrink back.

You need well fitting bras for breastfeeding, bad fitting bras encourage mastitis and blocked ducts, you don't want that!
