Holiday between 20-25 weeks

Hello - my husband and I are thinking of going on a mini break in Jan. I'm currently 15 weeks so I imagine I'll be around 21/22 weeks when we actually go away. Pregnancy has been fairly good so far and the sickness is going (hopefully!). I wondered if anyone had any holiday recommendations or experiences to share whilst pregnant. We are lucky that we live in east Kent so driving to Europe or getting the Eurostar would be easy, however my husband wants to be a more more adventurous and fly somewhere. If the weather is too rotten will could go in early Feb but I feel a bit reserved as i just don't know how I'll feel and don't want to waste money doing something I won't enjoy / spend hours travelling. Any tips would be appreciated x

If you are looking for somewhere hot could go somewhere in the UAE or Oman? Hats nice weather at that tine of the year. I’m 21 weeks now and would be fine flying now.

Obviously everyone is different, but I've felt fantastic from 20 weeks onwards (29 weeks now) and would have had no issues going pretty much anywhere on holiday. Canaries are only four hours' flight and will be warm and sunny in Jan, but I guess by mini break you maybe mean a weekend, in which case maybe a European city break would be a good shout. We did Berlin when I was 8 weeks pregnant and had fun.

We went to Canada a few weeks ago when I was 24 weeks. I'm 30 weeks now and unsure I could do it at the moment! The tiredness has returned with a vengeance. I felt great 20 weeks plus! It's the best time to go 🙂

I went to Cyprus at 21/22 weeks. I used to live there so felt very comfortable there anyway, got a lovely hotel and just enjoyed my week away.
The only thing that was a bit of an issue was the transfer from hotel to airport made me a bit sick (and I still felt groggy on the plane), but I'm terrible for travel sickness anyway. It was great to have some time away to relax Smile

It’s hard to know how comfy/ uncomfy you’ll be. At 20 weeks onwards with DS I had horrible PGP and sciatica. I could barely walk and sitting on a plane seat for too long would’ve been hell. I did however manage a 16hr flight at 25 weeks with dTwins (business class though...)

Flying won’t be any worse than driving, better in a way as at least you can move around if you want too. Don’t underestimate how much you may yearn for this one last child free holiday if you don’t have it!

I went to kefalonia for a week in May when I was 29 weeks. I think for me between 20 and 32 weeks is the best time to go, after that I started to feel tired again, swollen ankles etc.

I’m 22 weeks and I could definitely go on holiday right now!! Feel fine in myself, just have frequent colds!! I would book the holiday and enjoy it!! Xxx

We went away when I was 29 weeks to Greece. It made a nice break but we picked an all inclusive beach hotel so that we didn’t have to go out every day if I was feeling a bit shattered. Make sure you’ve got travel insurance that covers the baby (if born prematurely while you are away) as well as just you.

I went away to turkey during weeks 29-31. Was definitely the best thing I had done for myself all pregnancy. Got a really lovely break from work, had some sun and importantly rest that I wasn't getting at home.
I made sure I had travel insurance, EU medical card and fit to fly letter from my GP. Was actually questioned before boarding the return flight on how many weeks I was as airline didn't allow pregnant passengers 32 weeks onwards. I think the food and rest had been good for baby's growth lol

Thank you for all your suggestions, it's really helpful! It's so hard when you don't know how you will feel though it's sounds like 20-30 weeks is the golden time! My husband wants to go to turkey but the weather is quite cold so I'm thinking I want a city break somewhere like Holland to be a bit closer but things to visit/do, too many options!
