Anomaly Scan - call back from sonographer!

Hi,

Yesterday I went for my anomaly scan and was told everything with baby was fine and all checks complete. My placenta is anterior and low so I got a leaflet about that. I had a low placenta with my first baby so I’m not worried about that as it moved up by labour.

I got a phone call this morning from the sonographer saying she had reviewed the images today and noticed some fluid between my bladder and uterus. She explained that usually she wouldn’t review images but had some spare time this morning and did an audit on herself. They have invited me back for another scan in 2 weeks to take another look. She explained that it was probably a blood vessel but because she hadn’t looked at it further at the time she needed to see me again. She did say not to worry and it was more for her to explain what she had seen but it’s hard not to worry.

Has anyone every experienced something similar ??

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, if it was surely they would want u back sooner.. maybe it's just something she hasn't seen before and wants to check it out..

I agree with pp, when I had a problem, I was back within 24 hours.

I know and I try to not to worry but I am naturally very anxious as a person. She did say it was more so she could just justify what she had seen and she would have done it yesterday if she had spotted it at the time. I’m guessing it can’t be very big if she didn’t see it first time round

I’d be worried too as I worry about the slightest things (like a perfectly fine and in range heartbeat being too low Hmm) neurotic is my middle name.

I totally agree with PP though, I it was of great concern, they’d have had you back in much sooner and similarly she’d have noticed it when she scanned you. I’m sure all will be fine Grin
