Induction booked for Thursday - midwife has told me to try allll the old wives tales to see if I can get things moving...

She wasn't able to complete a sweep today due to positioning issues...

Soooo...

Raspberry leaf tea?
Pineapple?
Spicy food?
Sex?
Nipple stimulation?
Clary sage oil?

(She suggested castor oil but I'm not sure I can bring myself to do that 🙈)

Soooo - what worked for you?

Any tips would be sooooo gratefully received at this point 💕

Only thing that has worked for me has been sex. Castor oil made me vomit immediately, raspberry leaf tea did nothing. I ate curries until I cried and pineapples until my tongue bled. NOTHING! One night of not so gentle sex (sorry for tmi) and my waters broke within hours. I'm currently on pregnancy 4 and will absolutely be doing the same this time

Raspberry leaf tea is to help with labour, not bring it on, so don’t bother with that.

My SIL swears by pineapple, but apparently you need to eat loads of it.

Have a bounce on a birthing ball to see if you can get baby to engage and try to relax. Oxytocin is what gets labour moving, so you want to be nice and happy (it’s one of the reasons sex is supposed to help, besides the obvious mechanical aspects!)

Avoid anything that raises your adrenaline (so no stressful things!) because that will stall labour.

Good luck :)
