Currently 34 weeks pregnant with our second baby , for the last week or so when I'm walking or intimate with DH I'm getting a shooting pain in what feels like cervix Confused it's like a electric shock! (Sorry tmi) I'm also getting a lot more white milky discharge

Bit of background: problem free pregnancy until 31 weeks was monitored for dfm and sent for scan were they found the baby was measuring 3 weeks behind just below 10th centile.
So now I am on weekly Doppler and afi scans and 3 weekly growth scans .
I suppose I'm worried that the pain is something to do with that or could it be that labour will be coming soon ?
Had my DD at 37 weeks exactly no warnings at all before my waters broke nothing ! So all this is new to me second time round

Hello, I'm a midwife and the sort of pains you describe don't sound like early labour to me - more like some kind of trapped nerve pain. However, I would encourage you to call your hospital and go in to get it checked out if the pains don't settle. Just for reassurance.
I wouldn't worry about the extra milky discharge - that can be quite common in pregnancy.
Sounds like your hospital are being very thorough offering you dopplers and extra scans which is good. Remember though that 10% of baby's must be below the 10th centile and many of them will just be healthy but smaller babies.

@SecretM thanks so much for your reply ! Re assuring to know the discharge is normal Smile could it be the baby moving down at all ?

Guess it could be baby moving down a little and putting more pressure on your cervix. Well done for continuation of dtd (I had to look it up too). Should help you when it comes around to when you want the baby born. There's an expression "what got it in there will help get it out!"
