Hi.

I am wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. I was due to see the consultant this Wednesday after them cancelling my appointment 7 times. This was to arrange a c section date. I will be 36 + 5 ... However this appointment has also been cancelled and has now been rearranged for next Wednesday when I will be 37 + 5. Isn't this cutting it a bit fine ? I'm so worried that they are leaving it so late to sort out a date for me. Dreading it every time the post comes in case they cancel again :/

They didn’t give me a date at that appointment anyway.
They took bloods, weighed me, gave me anti reflux meds and told me to call up on the Monday a couple of weeks later to get a date for the c-section.
Called up on the Monday at 39 weeks and was given a day for the Wednesday so was 39+2 when I had the c-section.
So you should have plenty of time.

My consultant has told me that it's important I book a date quite early as it can be difficult to fit them in - she told me I would struggle to get a planned section booked for 38 weeks if I left it any later than 34-35 weeks. However I think it will probably depend on which trust you are in and how busy they are - everything where I am always seems to be booked weeks in advance.

Do you have a maternity booking line that you can call and explain the situation, even if it allows you to just book a provisional date until you've seen the consultant?
