Do they record gender at 20 week scan?

I had my 20 week scan on Friday and said I didn't want to find out the babies sex. Anyway I've since changed my mind. So annoying I know! So I was wondering whether the sonographer may have recorded it on my notes and I could ring them and ask? I know it's a long shot but would be interesting to know.

I don't believe so.

You'd need to have a private scan to find out.

They don’t seem to.

We’ve been for 10 million several growth scans since our 20 week scan and been asked each time whether we know the sex.

I agree that you’ll need to have a private scan to find out (or wait until baby is here!)

Definitely don’t, my midwife was also pregnant and she didn’t know the sex. She said that as a rule they don’t record it and the medical professionals are all quite grateful of this if they want to be team yellow (because everyone gets tempted at some point!)

No, but if you want to know private scans are not that expensive....

Opheliasgoldenwine · 25/11/2018 23:57

I really doubt it but private scans for that aren't expensive.

No they don’t, it’s a medical appointment nothing else.

Not unless there's a medical issue linked to gender detected on the scan.

They don't even check the genitals as one of the checks they do so don't have looked unless you asked.

Ok thanks! Guess I'll be booking a gender scan then! My oh will be happy as he's been desperate to know. It's his birthday on Wednesday so I'll book it for then Smile.
