I told myself that it was a waste of money and that we would just wait for the standard 12 week scan but I'm not even 8 weeks yet and I'm huge so have completely convinced myself that it's twins (they run in the family) and I don't think I'll stop stressing until I find out for sure. Can anybody recommend a company? Either a national chain or somewhere Manchester based?

I used Ultrasound Direct in Sheffield I believe they're throughout the country.
Mine ended in an MMC but they were amazing they organised everything with my local EPAU.

Thank you Michelle they operate out of our local Mothercare so that could be an option

We used window to the womb who I think are a national chain? I was 8-9 weeks and it was really worthwhile just to check all was ok, there was heart beat and the positioning was good.

I use Ultrasound direct babybond - well worth the £80. I’m between 8-9 weeks now and had a scan at 7 weeks that confirmed there was just the one (also hugely bloated and my mum is a twin) but heartbeat found and all looking ok for now. When I used them earlier in the year (ended in an MC) they were also brilliant as they prepared me for what might happen.

Baby bond or ultrasound direct where awful
When I went to them. Really unprofessional and running late didn't even apologise it wasn't a good experience. We complained and they didn't care even though their sonographer really messed up.
Window to the womb were fab and half the price, check out groupon as they usually have voucher deals or discount codes too. It's super exciting seeing baby for the first time but also you want a reputable company in case something is wrong so proper advise can be given. Maybe check out Facebook review or your local one.

OP I had an EPU scan at 8 weeks (I was having cramps). Having that intermediate reassurance really helped me, I think I would have been petrified at the 12 weeks scan otherwise.

I am going to Window to the Womb after Xmas for a private 3D scan, and I have heard great things about this chain :)

I went to a place in a Chorlton opposite the cemetery next to a kitchen shop (can’t remember the name sorry- am sure you’ll find on google) for a IONA test at 10 weeks and they did a scan. No complaints.
