OP, is this a home doppler? They're strongly not recommended for home use. Please have a read -

NHS website-
Important
Do not use a home doppler (heartbeat listening kit) to try to check the baby's heartbeat yourself. This is not a reliable way to check your baby's health – even if you hear a heartbeat, this does not mean your baby is well.

Absolutely do not want to frighten or patronise you. I suffer from anxiety and in my pregnancy mentioned getting one to my midwife, she strongly advised against it for the above reasons.

It’s ok , I’m aware there not recommended I’d always monitor baby’s movements when I got further along I just wanted some reassurance before my 12 week scan , I’m not going to be using it often

It's a lovely experience but home dopplers should be banned.

Throw it away

Canders · 24/11/2018 17:22

Aaw lovely... many people will tell you not to use them but as long as your aware of the problems... I don't see why you can't!

I've heard mine at home too and it was a lovely experience sharing it with my daughter. Congrats to you :)

I don’t see the problem with home Dopplers as long as people don’t use them in place of going to hospital.

Thank you canders ! Smilecongrats to you too ! How nice your daughter listened with you x

Thesnobbymiddleclassone- why would I throw it away ? It’s given me great comfort after two missed miss-carriages , I can’t feel movement yet so I don’t think there’s any harm in listening every now and again.
