They managed to see something on a scan?

Specifically that the pregnancy is in the "correct" place.

I had an ectopic earlier this year. My tube ruptured at 5 weeks 6 days so the day before the epu would even have seen me had I not bent the truth slightly regarding my dates because I was in so much pain intermittently.

I've just found out I'm pregnant again. Had a small amount of brown spotting over a few hours of the morning. Had significant brown bleeding with my ectopic so I'm nervous but not unduly worried at this stage.

I Will call the epu on Monday but given that, although I appreciate I was unlucky last time and most ectopics hold out a bit longer, I don't feel I can wait until six weeks to be scanned, I wondered how far I could tweak my dates and still have them see something if, fingers crossed, there is something to see 😍 can't lose my other tube as well 😞

I had a scan at 5+4 in my first pregnancy (fertility clinic, they thought I was further on than I did) and could see a yolk sac and fetal pole.

CritterTamer · 24/11/2018 15:38

5+6 here - saw two sacs with fetal poles and were able to see both heartbeats at that point too.

Good luck OP 🤞

6 plus 2. Saw yolk sac. No hb till a week later.

I had an ectopic earlier in the year and am now pregnant again - this time I called the EPU as soon as I found out and they booked me in for a scan at 6 weeks. However while waiting for the scan they got me in for 2 or 3 blood tests over the course of a week to see if my HGC was rising normally and luckily was, however they said had it not been rising normally they would have scanned me earlier.

So If they wont scan you until 6 weeks you could ask them to monitor your bloods, given the circumstances you went through last time?

My 6 week scan was actually more like 5w4d as I ovulate late, and they could see a yolk sac in the right place at that point, then 2 weeks later a heartbeat.

Good luck! x

I've had an ectopic pregnancy a few years ago which resulted in having to have my left tube removed when i was 10 weeks expecting, i only found out it was an ectopic pregnancy because at 10 weeks the bleeding started and i felt a lot of pain ,I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant now but in the beginning of this pregnancy they could determine the pregnancy was growing/developing where it should be from 4 weeks, as my hcg levels were high enough to do a scan at my epu , they can normally know whether you'll be able to see anything by having a scan depending where where your hcg levels are at , if it's very early in the pregnancy the hcg levels might not be high to see much but when they rise they'll be able to see where the pregnancy is , hope this helps and Good luck , hope it goes well for you x

Thank you everyone for your replies. The lines when I poas are so much darker than those at the same stage with my ectopic so I feel quietly confident but won't rest until I know!

Always seen HB around 5.3-5.5 but a lot don't see it until a week or so later

PBobs · 24/11/2018 17:42

Yolk sac and foetal pole at 4+4. HB in week 6.

Darkstar4855 · 24/11/2018 19:37

I would be honest about your dates with EPU on Monday. As PP said they can monitor your hCG levels until you are far enough on for a scan.

Angharad07 · 25/11/2018 01:09

We couldn’t see anything until 7 weeks and then he just popped out of no where. It terrified me and I’d convinced myself that t was a mmc
