Spotting in early pregnancy

Hi everyone. I’m looking with anyone who’s experienced spotting in early pregnancy? This morning I’ve had a little spotting (tmi but brownish discharge) and dialled 111 (1st pregnancy, constantly worrying). The doctor that called back said it’s normal around early pregnancy (I’m 6+2), as I’ve not got any pain and otherwise haven’t had any complications. Has anyone else had something like this happen and carried on okay? We have a private scan tomorrow, so hoping it may give some reassurance.

Hello. I'm also 6+2 with my first. I started having some spotting a couple of weeks ago and even had a slightly heavier bleed at one point. Nurse said it's very common but I got referred to my local early pregnancy unit to check viability. Had first scan last week when I thought I was 6 weeks but didn't see much as I wasn't as far along as I had thought. Yesterday I had another early scan where we saw our little baby with a very strong heartbeat (according to the sonographer) :) I was told it was most likely implantation bleeding.

Yes I spotting (at times quite heavily) from about 6 weeks to about 14 weeks or so with both mine. Everything turned out fine. It can be a bad sign, sadly, but can also frequently be nothing, so try not to stress too much. If you get a heartbeat at your scan then you've got a very good chance that all will continue as planned.

I'm 15 weeks. I've been in with spotting 3 times and every time the baby is fine, bang on for dates etc. Also, I had an early scan at around 6 +2 and they couldn't see a heartbeat but it was just too early. Came back a week later and it was there. Good luck!

My 11week brownish spotting is now legging it around the park with his sisters!

I went to the early pregnancy unit at my city's women's hospital and they did a scan for me there and then (it was almost ten years ago though and I think things may have changed to appointments for scans after an initial emergency attendance now).

Best of luck X

Thanks for your comments! It’s hard not to worry isn’t it? I don’t seem to have anything other than two lnjited instances the morning, so am hoping the doctor is right and it’s nothing to worry about! They didn’t want to refer me or anything and said the private scan was fine to do. Fingers crossed it will be okay. Nice to hear some similar stories.

I spotted from week 6-10 and had two bright red bleeds in between. I had a subchorionic hematoma which has now resolved itself thankfully. Now 14 weeks and baby appears happy and healthy!☺️

Glad to hear everything is working out for you kpeanut94! I’m feeling a bit better today as everything seems to be back to normal down there with no more of the spotting, for over 12 hours. Hoping our early scan can provide some reassurance later🤞
