Is Nct worth it for second baby

Hello,

So when I was pregnant with my dc1 I moved back to my hone city after ten years and did the Nct course so I could meet some friends who were due to have babies and be off like me. It's been great and we are all still close now over a year on .

I've just found out I'm pregnant again due in July 2019. All of my Nct group will be back at work and even the few friends I e made at baby classes have returned to work.

So I'm wondering even though it would be about 18 months after doing last Nct course is it worth doing it again to meet another set of mum's who will be off at the same time? I think there is a course for parents who already have children.

Has anyone done it with other children after the first? Do you get the same bond as when you are all ftm?

Thank you

I did it for similar reasons to you, in my experience the due dates were further apart and geographically we were more widely spread, presumably due to the second time round being less popular. We have met up less often than my original course because people are juggling older children of varying ages so it's more difficult to arrange things but I met some nice people and am glad I did it. I also felt it was nice to focus on baby no 2 by doing the course as I'd largely ignored the fact I was pregnant due to being busy with work and the first one.

With my second, I met other new mums by doing a baby massage course shortly after he arrived. This time round, I have met a bunch of lovely local mums to be through doing pregnancy yoga. If you don't feel you need the antenatal part of NCT this time around, it might be worth looking about to see what other things you could do to meet people.

However, I do think it is definitely worth finding some way (whether it be NCT, yoga, swimming, whatever) to seek out people with a baby about the same age as yours - it makes such a difference to be going through the baby stage alongside someone else!
