Early Braxton Hicks

18+2 and have experienced the front of my stomach go rock hard for a minute at a time on a few occasions. I have called my MW who has said this is perfectly normal and not to worry as no other symptoms. She said they were Braxton Hicks.
Has anyone else experienced these so early? I thought they only happened at the end of a pregnancy.

I had Braxton Hicks from around 4 months gestation with my second pregnancy.

My midwife said that it's normal for some women :)

I could have written this. I’m 18+5 and have noticed some today too.
This is my third pregnancy and also had them quite early with the previous two.
From experience/ memory mine often seem to be triggered by a full bladder (yet apparently dehydration can also cause them - can’t win!)
Sometimes I’m not sure if it’s just ‘stretching’ pains - have had these on and off all the way through. I guess now that the uterus is bigger perhaps the stretching ligaments can also trigger them a bit?!
Who knows. It does seem to be quite normal for some women to feel them early though. Others don’t feel them at all or until later.

I got them early with both of mine too. Don’t think it signifies anything.... I always quite liked the sensation

I started noticing then as they were annoying and frequent around 19 weeks. Now 25 weeks and all is normal! Was told if they are bothering you to drink water, change sitting to standing or standing to sitting, warm bath and paracetamol.

Thank you everyone. I am glad there are others who have felt this!
