Car seat wrap blanket

We are due our third baby in February and so I'm thinking we will need something something substantially warm for the car seat (other babies were August so this is all new to me.)

I'd obviously like to buy something safe - I've seen some of those wraps which stay in the car seat with the straps fed through them but are some better quality than others? I'd be so grateful for any recommendations.

Cosy car seat blankets on Facebook are lovely it lots of different fabrics. Or Tuppence and Crumble for star ones😊

We were gifted one from Cath Kidston which was lovely Smile

I had one delivered yesterday, Zamboo from Amazon, really pleased with it. Been worrying about keeping DS warm on the school run without a pramsuit and it's lovely and cosy.

Thank you for the suggestions - I'll look at all of those!

we used a tuppence and crumble star wrap last winter for our then newborn and it was fab. Usually plenty second hand on eBay, they are not cheap new!

Whitelisbon · 22/11/2018 15:04

Morrck blankets are crash tested and approved, and they're fab. Come in loads of different colours, and wash up beautifully.
I bought 2 for my dts when they were babies, they're now almost 5 and still look as good as new (the blankets, not the dts!)

I’d second morrck blankets too, they are very good. Keeps them warm and means you don’t have to worry about coats etc. Also very easy to unwrap if you bring them in somewhere warm whilst they are sleeping.

I just bought a stripey blanket (from JoJoMaman, if memory serves) that became the default 'car' blanket. Unless you're expecting to do a lot of long journeys I don't see why you'd need anything else?

bingirl · 22/11/2018 15:14

Another vote for Morrck!

KnucklestheEchidna · 22/11/2018 15:32

I've bought a Morrck (morrck.com/product/all-season-baby-hoodie-size-1-6-months/); haven't tested it out yet as our baby is due in January but it's a good size and has washed well.

MonkeyToucher · 22/11/2018 15:45

Another Morrck! Absolutely loved mine and can’t wait to use it again for number 2. It’s still good as new c

MintMatchstickMuncher · 22/11/2018 16:30

I was going to buy a Cocoon one by cocoon babies but my friend gifted me one that she had used and it was fantastic. If I hadn't been given it I would have been very happy to by this one.

Twickerhun · 22/11/2018 16:32

I just use two normal blankets then as the car warms up you can easily pull them off. Allows for better layering.

overagain · 22/11/2018 19:04

Morrck are the only crash tested ones. So if you want to put it under baby then wrap over, that's the one to go for!

Angharad07 · 22/11/2018 20:13

I have a maxi cosi pebble car seat and bought the corresponding brand blanket wrap in the same colour as the car seat. It looks good and I know it’ll have been tested. I put the newborn insert inside the blancket wrap too but I’ll have to check whether that’s the correct way to position it.

YY to the Tuppence and Crumble starsnugs.

Leafy2018 · 22/11/2018 23:23

Thank you so much - loads to look at. Have to say the Morrk may edge it just for the crash testing and all the colours Smile

But maybe a second one is a necessary for the pram? I had a Mamas and Papas pram wrap blanket thing before but it's looking a little tired...

I hadn’t heard of the Morrcks so I’ve just googled. They’re lovely but my baby goes nuts if he can’t get to his hand, so I’d have to wrap with one arm out in the cold. I like the sleeves on the T&C.
