Painful vulva/vagina late pregnancy - is baby coming?

Probably TMI...

Have woken up today with a painful vulva/vagina area. It's painful when I try to stand up but pretty much okay when I'm seated, laid down or walking. It feels like it's swollen?? I haven't had time to have a look Hmm. I read that this can happen in late pregnancy JUST BEFORE LABOUR but didn't experience it in my first pregnancy.

Has anyone experienced this? Does it mean baby is coming??? I'm 36w and unprepared!

My sister had this at 38 weeks baby arrived 6 days later- he's just 4 weeks now. Definitely a sign labour could be imminent!

I hope not as I have been having this and I am only 32+5 - I don't want to look! I think it can be to do with pressure and horror of horrors I have read you can get v.veins down there in late pregnancy that then just go away - so just in case can't bring myself to look - I think that would finish me off!

I have no idea what it means, but if it helps my bits have been feeling like this for at least 4 weeks! Im 35 weeks currently and it comes and goes but it definitely feels like that more often than not and obviously hasn't meant labour for me yet! I have looked, and also there arent any varicose veins for me! Good luck and i hope all is ok for you - and dont panic! x

I had this. Felt like the world was about to fall out of my vagina. Lots pressure all in that one place. That happened about a month before DS arrived 😂

I thinkits reasonably common. Just more of an excuse to sit down and relax 😂

I find this reassuring!!! Might risk a look - as long as there isn’t a baby waving at me it will be fine!

Plink a month! OK that's a bit better Smile though painful!
