Anyone else in their 40th week? I didn’t get this fat in my first pregnancy so I’m super anxious and impatient to meet baby girl! I’m super uncomfortable and I hope she decides to turn up soon

I'm 40+3 and had my first S&S yesterday but nothings happening yet.

Just getting my usual cramping (albeit slightly more) so I'm getting fed up now as I just want to get labour over and done with instead of wondering 'Is this it?!' after each uncomfortable BH etc.

What is S&S?
I’ve had cramping for a few weeks and my midwife said it was normal but it’s more annoying because I keep thinking something might happen

Stretch and sweep.

Me too but fingers crossed we won't have much longer left.

SB2017 · 22/11/2018 15:16

I’ve not been offered a sweep but my friend has. I thought you didn’t get it until you are really overdue

Well this is our 5th and we are planning on a home birth and TBH I think it depends on your own midwife x

3 days overdue now and I’m so uncomfortable! Will anything work to bring on labour. I bounce on my exercise ball, go for walks and tried spicy food but nothing. I know a lot of them are old myths and don’t work but I’ve had enough now and she is being so stubborn

I'm afraid there's not much you can do to bring it on. It's frustrating but they only come when they're ready. Both my previous DC were late. 13 days and 11 days. It sucks!

I would reeeeeally try to distract yourself, to save your own sanity! I was expecting labour every day from around 37 weeks with my first (we had some complications) but she didn’t make an appearance until 9 days post due date!
I’m 40 + 4 now and having lots of Braxton Hicks today, I don’t normally get them during the day. I feel so weird like I’m desperate for it to happen but also keen for it to never come Grin Good luck with the wait, try to book stuff to do and keep busy! I’ve got something booked to do with my toddler every day next week to keep me sane, no one will mind you cancelling at the last minute if you have to!

SB2017 · 25/11/2018 14:34

Yeah I’m trying to keep myself busy and active as I can. I’m going to distract myself today with some Christmas shopping. I have had quite a few Brixton hicks but nothing else. Baby is too comfy!
