Are false positives possible - clearblue digi week predictor test!

So mt fitbit says im due AF yesterdsy, my Ovia app says today, I havent started yet. On day 11 and 12 after having unprotected sex/around ovulation I had some spotting which ive never ever had before between periods. This was 4/5 days before my period was due.

At the time I had cramps, tender breasts and an achy back. Over the past few days I have also had other pregnancy symptoms including; nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath (altho im asthmatic it never affects me normally til now), tender and what feels larger than normal breasts, mood swings (out of the norm mood swings), lethargic.

And I know I could just be reading into symptoms because im more aware of them since im TTC.

I was told that an ovulation test stick could give you some idea of pregnancy. I have taken 2 of these tests and both came back a lot darker than they have ever come back but still lighter than the test line.

So I sent the hubbie out 2 nights ago for a clearblue digi test that gives you the weeks estimate. It came back pregnant 1-2 weeks.

But...ive read lots of places that you can get false positives. With the period symptoms im kind of confused and scared to get my hopes up. Of course because I didnt trust it I took it apart to see the lines. I know I know dont do that!!

So last night I did another test as I couldnt wait and it came back with the same result. Pregnant 1-2 weeks. I mean I know its maybe possible to have 1 false positive but would 2 be likely??

I ask because I have period symptoms and keep waiting for it to appear. Some back ache and cramping, maybe not as bad as usually with period but definitely feel it.

Again I could be over thinking things but just wanted to see if anyone else experienced all of this and either a) turned out to be pregnant or b) ended up having their period. Or if anyone has ever had a false positive?

Just worried about getting my hopes up and trying to hold off taking another test for a day or two to see if period comes on.

Thanks for any comments/advice in advance Smile

I'm pretty sure I've seen on here that the Clearblue digs aren't generally used at first as they're not sensitive enough to detect early pregnancy... hence a lot of false negatives rather than false positives.

So if you're getting a positive already I'd say it was correct! Congratulations!!! Thanks

With two positives I'd say you're pregnant, congratulations! Period and pregnancy symptoms can be very similar (cramping etc) so try not to worry :) If you want further reassurance you could test with a FRER and see the second line; if the hCG is being picked up by a digital I imagine the line on a FRER would be reasonably dark. Congratulations again!

You're definitely pregnant. Congratulations! The clear blue digital tests are so good that when I went to the gp and said I'd had a positive using one she didn't even bother to retest. Some early pregnancy symptoms feel like PMS so don't worry about that. I had spotting (implantation bleeding) 4 days before my positive test, fatigue, weird smelling sweat and cramps that felt like PMS as well as a tugging in my abdomen. DD is now 14 weeks.

Thank you so much. I also took my BBT and it was 98.5 this morning or 36.95 in celsius so thats very high in comparison to my normal average which is around 97.3 or 36.2. So I had read that a high BBT could be a sign too 👍🏻😀

False positives are very rare. You only get a positive if there is HCG in your urine, and you only get that from pregnancy.

Congratulations!!!

Needless to say all 3 came back as pregnant!!

So I guess I should take it im pregnant then ha ha
