Thirst

I’m 12 weeks pregnant and have been desperately thirsty for the last 5/6 weeks.

I am knocking back water constantly as well as squash and a bit of juice. I pee literally every 20 minutes and every hour through the night. If I don’t drink I’m hugely uncomfortable so just carry on. I read that milk can help but unfortunately I hate milk.

Does anyone else experience this? Is it anything to worry about? Any thirst quenching tips?

I've certainly been much more thirsty than normal. Despite that, when I've had midwife / hospital appointments and had urine tests, they've told me to drink more!

Have you had your 12 week scan yet? Might be worth talking to your midwife about it if it's really excessive.

I’ve been like this the entire pregnancy, I drink 3-4 litres a day - nothing abnormal in any urine or blood tests for me. So it’s not always a bad sign!

It’s good to drink lots of water! And your skin will thank you 🙏

Seriously thirsty in all my pregnancies! I'm currently chugging from a sports bottle

I was the same. Ice lollies helped as did bitter drinks like tonic or alc free larger.
