Am 8 weeks pregnant and we have to make a decidion on whether or not to fly long haul in October. What would you do? am 39, pretty straightforward last pregnancy

I flew back from OZ at 28 wks. Bit uncomfy, but just make sure you walk about the plane a lot.

Providing you have a compication free preg (when I have no doubt you will have) you will be fine at this stage. Be sure to look into travel insurance properly as a lot of places won't cover PG ladies, and you might need a letter from your doc to say you are fit to fly but there should be no probs. I think its a great idea to have a nice big holiday at that stage- will relax you as your 3rd trimester begins!
Wish I'd done it- instead I had a week in a caravan in Devon when I was 30 weeks. It was the worst weeks holiday ever. Would have been much better to go abroard!

The very besy thing about this is that DH and DS (will be 2.5) are going two days before me so DH will have to deal with toddler on plane alone AND the worst of the jetlag. His suggestion by the way (cheaper all to do with airmiles). Plus when we get there my mother in law arranges lots of help with DS so it will be a proper holiday
