Miscarriage or paranoia?

Around a month ago I had what I thought was my period starting (I should mention I’m on the pill so my periods tend to be lighter). I bled really heavily and passed a lot of clots, the bleeding stopped after around a week. I know clots are normal and I have seen them before but this was a significant amount. During one pad change it was entirely clots.

Normally I’d have pretty heavy periods with intense period pain, which is why I take the pill but this time I had no pain besides mild back pain before I started bleeding.

I don’t know if I was pregnant, in fact I didn’t think too much of this until recently. Could this have been a miscarriage? How would I find out?

Speak to your GP get a blood test but it seems they often won't and put it down to a period.

A blood test from the GP wouldn’t be able to tell you if you’d had a miscarriage a month ago as any pregnancy hormone in your blood would have gone by now.

Honestly I don’t think there is any way to know for sure, sorry. However very early miscarriage (chemical pregnancy) is common and doesn’t mean that you’ll have any problems getting or staying pregnant in the future.

That’s what I thought, I’d of gone to the GP sooner but honestly mine are useless anyway. Does this sound like it could of potentially been a miscarriage though?
