Conception Question

Just looking for some reassurance, please no bashing, I appreciate any input.

I had sex with guy A when my boyfriend and I were split up, on April 30, 2018. I took the morning after pill the morning after on May 1, 2018. I had also taken the morning after pill on April 17,2018 (so two times within a two week time frame)... Let's just say I wasn't being the smartest.

I do not remember getting a period in May, but when I talked to an APRN at Planned Parenthood she said taking the morning after pill twice in that time frame could definitely cause me to miss my period completely.

I took multiple pregnancy tests through May and into June and all were negative. I noted my period as starting June 5, 2018 in an app I got, it only lasted until the 8th of June. I've been back with my boyfriend since early May and have only had sex with him since. I continued taking pregnancy tests through the end of June and all were still negative. I got my first positive pregnancy test on July 6, 2018. Based on ultrasounds I conceived somewhere between June 19-June 24.

Is there absolutely any possible way that my ultrasounds could have been off by so much that I could have conceived from my encounter at the end of April or can I be 100% sure my boyfriend is the father?

I had 4 early ultrasounds up until my anatomy scan:

7/18/18 -- 5 w 4 d
7/27/18 -- 6 w 4 d
8/7/18 -- 8 w 1 d
9/5/18 -- 12 w 1 d

Ultrasounds date according to how bit big the baby is compared to average babies. So a couple of weeks difference is not unheard of but I'd be very surprised if it could be out by 2 months.

I think you can breathe easily on this one. I hope all is good with your bf now. Congrats on your BFP!

I swear this was a thread before...

It isn't the guy who you slept with in April's baby. Scans can be off by a few days, not 6 weeks.

Do a dna test once the baby is born for your own peace of mind as it seems nothing anyone can say will reassure you...

There's quite a long time between end of April and mid June. I don't think a 12 week scan could be that far off with dates, so I'd be confident your boyfriend is the father.

Early scans are quite accurate to within 2 weeks. They would definitely pick up if the baby was measuring much further ahead.

That's what I've heard, give or take 2 weeks is about the margin of error.. although some people say it's even less than that for ultrasounds in the first trimester, I think 2 weeks is playing it safe.

Had I conceived even 1 full week after the encounter on April 30, I would have been 10 weeks from conception date when I had my first ultrasound on July 18, which would've put me measuring at around 12 weeks gestational on the ultrasound at that visit and I was measuring 5 w 4 d..
