Anybody else measuring small?

Hey everybody, I had my 35 week midwife appointment today, and turns out I'm measuring 30cm which is the same as I was measuring at 31 weeks. Feeling really concerned, I've definitely got bigger since then as I cannot even see my lady bits anymore and baby is moving fine. I'm booked in for a scan tomorrow but I'm so nervous.

Anybody else in the same boat or has been?

I'm no longer measuring small but just wanted to say that it really seems like the tape measure is a very inaccurate method. On my 20 week scan I was told that baby was measuring around 80th centile, fine, no problems. I then had the tape measurement at 25 weeks and I had got noticeably bigger but I was told that I was measuring so small I was almost off the bottom of the chart (21 cm I think) and so I was sent for an emergency scan that same day. We spent the next few hours horrendously worried that there was something seriously wrong... went into the scan and told baby is at the 95th centile?!

Then went back to midwife at 29 weeks and was measuring over 30cm on the tape measure which put me again around 90th centile.

So basically I think it is all a bit of a guessing game, seems to completely depend on how baby is lying and whether they can palpate anything at the top of the uterus. Please try not to worry, I know it is really difficult, but it is more than likely that baby is absolutely fine and tape measurement is just way off!

Thanks for your reply, I'm glad everything turned out to be fine for you. I was so confused as I feel like I've really gotten bigger since my last appointment! She told me not to worry too much, but it really doesn't help being told you're 'measuring really small' and getting booked in for a scan the next day!

If you feel like you have got bigger then that is probably a better indicator that baby is growing. I did get bigger between 25-29 week appointments but there is no way that I grew over 9cm in 4 weeks so I'm pretty sure that the one at 25 weeks was way under!

Fingers crossed for you that everything is ok! x

My bump measured small all through my pregnancy. Had 2 growth scans and both came back absolutly normal. Baby was born at 39 +1 weighing 6lb 3oz. I hear a lot of women now being sent for growth scans because of bump measurements. I think they are not accurate at all! It all depends on the babies position, how you are laying and who is measuring you. Try not to worry(easier said than done I know!)Fingers crossed it goes well for you!x
