Pink Spotting 5 weeks pregnant

Hi,

I had a brown spot of old blood in my underwear on Thursday, wasn't too concerned but went to my gp and he said if it continues to go back in 2 weeks and they will scan me early. So he didn't really offer me very much reassure.

Today I have started having some light pink bleeding but only getting it when I wipe. I am panicking really I had a miscarriage around the 5 week mark over a year ago. I'm just panicking that the same thing is happening again.

I'm going to monitor it and if it gets worse I will go to the EPU in the morning. Can anyone offer me some reassurance because I'm terrified I'm losing my baby.

Hi OP, I've had the same thing with a miscarriage just over a month ago. My bleeding started pink and then turned red, then heavy. BUT the midwife I spoke to said that bleeding in early pregnancy is very common and it is more likely that everything is okay with your baby.
I had a tiny bit of pink when wiping when I had my daughter around the time of my missed period, it went away and all was fine.
Keep an eye on yourself and it is very, very difficult I know but try not to worry too much. I am hoping everything is okay for you love.

Sorry, have just read my message back and it doesn't come across as reassuring as iur meant it to be! My point was, it really can go either way with very similar symptoms. So I know that sometimes it can seem like the same thing is happening again but it really might be okay - each pregnancy is different xx

@Ilovemypyjamas thank you! No I understand it can go either way. I'm just praying it doesn't get any worse. I should be six weeks next Monday so I think I might just book an early scan to put myself at ease and so I know either way.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, I hope you get a positive outcome Smile

@London91 try not to worry - I know it is scary. I'm 8+6 and had spotting on and off from 4+2. Like you was just when I wiped and ranged from brown to pink. I also had some cramping. I went in for several scans (my next follow up is on Thursday) and have spent the last few weeks in a state of mild panic. I know how easy it is to google and come on MN and hear the negative stories so I just wanted to give you a little bit of hope. I know I'm not out of the woods yet at only 8 weeks, but the amount of nausea I currently have is convincing me that the little bean is well and strong. Some people do spot all the way through the first trimester so just try to stay calm and think positive thoughts! Thinking of you x

@JBCG thank you! Good to know it could just be normal. After my mc it's put me into a panic and have found the nhs to be a little bit indifferent and unsympathetic to be honest. I've booked an early scan for Saturday should be around 6 weeks then so hopefully it will just put my mind at ease a little.
