Hi,

Looking for people with similar pains for reassurance!!

I’m currently 20 + 3, so far everything is normal and we just found out yesterday, baby is happy, healthy boy. Just after my scan, I started getting quite sharp pains in my lower abdo and lower back pain. It feels like bad period pain and it seems to get worse through the day. I’ve spoken to my community midwife who thinks it’s ligament pain. Anyone else having similar pains? I previously had an early miscarriage and I think that’s making me worry more! I know people can’t diagnose what it is but would be nice to hear if other people have it too!!

Also, my bump has definitely grown in the last few days. So would make sense it is ligaments and nothing wrong with baby!!

Thanks xxx

I'm currently 20+2 and have also had those pains, it's not all the time and not for prolonged periods of time but I do get them, especially after a scan (the do prod quite hard sometimes) if I excersise or over do it with the cleaning. I find a bath helps

ChaosMoon · 20/11/2018 15:07

Hi ladies, I'm 20 and 2 and I'm getting same. Some days it's been so bad I couldn't stand up. (Although I'm prone to ligament problems, which probably doesn't help.)

Yoga has been a godsend. If I carefully) stretch out my stomach and back, it does make it a lot better for the next 24 hours. Need to keep on it though.

I'm lucky that I'm feeling baby move already, which is definitely reassuring when it feels like that.

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 20/11/2018 16:08

It's nice to be able to compare with others at the same stage. @chaosmoon, do you feel baby regular? I've been feeling baby for around 6 weeks but only ever in bed at night, I have to concentrate to feel it. But it's not all the time, sometimes I can feel it every day other times I can go a week and feel nothing which then makes me panic. I haven't felt baby for 4 days now which has me in a bit of panic, I have my scan tomorrow though

Wordie · 20/11/2018 17:14

Thanks ladies!!

Yeah it’s really nice to compare when we are all so close together!
I think it made me panic because I wasn’t expecting pains so early!!

I’ve been lucky too feeling movements early. Good luck with your scan tomorrow @exhaustedmummy1811 are you finding out what you are having?

Xx

I get this too! Now 25 weeks and have been getting it since around the time of my 20 weeks scan. I generally find that it will be bad for a day or two, then my bump will noticeably be bigger the next day!

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 20/11/2018 18:02

@wordie yes definitely want to find out, hope baby plays ball haha. Did you find out?

ChaosMoon · 20/11/2018 18:36

It really is nice isn't it?

@Wordie I was terrified when it first happened to me. I'd heard of round ligament pain but hadn't imagined it could be that painful.

@Exhaustedmummy1811 It's actually fairly regular and getting more so. I had a meeting today where I was talking a lot and it kicked hell out of me throughout. It was so distracting!

Had a quiet day yesterday though and it was starting to worry me until it got lively again at bed time. I think it was still moving, just not hard enough for me to be confident that's what it was.

Good luck with the scan tomorrow! Mine isn't until next week.

@MonkeyToucher isn't it funny how quickly can grow? Almost like it's overnight.

snoopy18 · 20/11/2018 18:45

Same here... lower back pain has been not too bad but I was getting sharp stabbing pains in my right side super deep. Genuinely thought I was about to die it was awful. Went hospital they did all the bloods etc and everything is clear as it’s the aide or kidney and liver so they put it down to ligament pain. Never been so much pain in my life! It came on pretty quick for about a week but has subsided the last 2 days. Hope it goes away haha. Good luck!

Wordie · 20/11/2018 20:09

I feel relieved I’m not the only one!! I’ve also realised my pain threshold is shit! 😳

@MonkeyToucher (great name) I think your right, my bump suddenly feel big and round and now the pains this evening are much better!!

@exhaustedmummy1811 yeah I found out, mines a boy! Weirdly I’ve been saying boy from day 1, probably a coincidence but super happy! Fingers crossed yours behaves and you find out tomorrow. It’s starting to feel real now!!

Anyone else having any other weird symptoms they weren’t expecting??

hey everyone!!!
I am super confused atm! I had my last periods on 27/10/2018 and on 14/11/2018 I started spotting brown! i was only a tiny but, enough to use only a panty liner and often only when i wipe. I did the pregnancy test and it was negative. just assuming that i did it too early!!!
I do feel that something is happening down there :D since this evening, I do feel pelvc pressure when I sit down!
My cycles are usually irregular but this time i am feeling hopefull!
can someone please help.. when is the best time to do the test again! so confused!!

Wordie · 20/11/2018 21:18

@sanjaw if LMP was 27/10 then the earliest you should test is this Saturday, which would be 4 weeks!!

@wordie thanku!

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 21/11/2018 14:20

Hope everyone is doing OK today. I just found out I'm expecting a girl!! I'm so excited

ChaosMoon · 21/11/2018 15:17

That's so exciting @Exhaustedmummy1811!

I don't know of this counts @Wordie but I was mightily cheese off to be told that your pain threshold drops during pregnancy. How unbelievably unfair!

ChaosMoon · 21/11/2018 15:17

Cheesed off. I was not cheese.

Wordie · 21/11/2018 16:40

@exhaustedmummy1811 congratulations!! 💕 so exciting!!! What number will this be?

@chaosmoon I had no idea that happens in pregnancy! Bloody typical!! 😂

Have you guys started buying stuff yet? Ive just been to the Mothercare sale but only bought a play mat. That’s the first big thing I’ve got x

Thanks everyone, this is baby number 5 🙈
I've got my pram and steriliser so far, everything else will have to wait till after Christmas lol

buddy79 · 21/11/2018 16:50

So glad I found this thread - I’m 18 weeks today and had cramps and lower back pain during the night which really freaked me out. I had a mmc in March, my current bump is on the small side (I think) and although I felt movement quite early on (14 weeks) have not felt anything this week since sat. Getting a bit scared, so glad to hear (sorry!) that this can be normal! It’s eased off now but I’m still quite anxious! Pleased for everyone who’se Had reassuring scans! X

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 21/11/2018 16:57

I've not felt baby for 5 days now and was convinced I would get to the scan today and something was wrong. But there was a strong heartbeat and she was moving a lot so think it might be mostly down to my anterior placenta

ChaosMoon · 21/11/2018 17:13

Sorry to hear about your mmc @buddy79. It must make it shui much worse when you're hit with surprise pains like this.

We've bought a car seat, but that's it. (And now have to buy a new car to fit it into, but that's another story!) Going to check out some stuff in the Black Friday sales and then wait until January.

Wordie · 21/11/2018 17:24

I understand your user name now @exhausedmummy1811 wow!!! I’m worrying about having 1!

@buddy79 I had exactly the same with feeling movement and then not feeling him for ages. Especially between 16 - 19 weeks. When I asked my midwife about it and pains, she told me to get used to being in pain and worrying. That’s motherhood!! 😂

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 21/11/2018 17:44

Haha yes definitely busy round here lol luckily the older ones are great at helping out. I got rid of everything after my last as I had decided I didn't want anymore. So this one is a huge surprise and I have to start again lol
I can't wait to feel proper kicks and regular movements I might stop worrying so much then. I'm not sure why I'm so worried this time I was never this bad with the others

buddy79 · 21/11/2018 17:49

Get used to being in pain ha ha! I do have a 4tr old DS and trying not to think about the impending knee / backache once this one arrives! Very reassuring to read others have felt starting and stopping movement too... just have to think calm thoughts I guess..!!
