Evening all. 6/7 weeks pregnant with #3 and have been spotting mostly brown blood for past three days (it was pinkish red once). It’s only on wiping. I am just unsure who to contact to get checked- triage told me to go to A&E which seemed a bit extreme?! I should also add I spotted throughout my two other pregnancies but would still like an early scan as reassurance.
Would be GP be best person to start with? I’m not under a midwife etc yet. Tia

My local maternity hospital has a day unit to ring and you can speak direct to a midwife. Have tried that?

I would see the GP for an Early Pregnancy Unit referral (unless your local unit has a policy where you can self-refer - it may say on your local hospital’s website). EPU is set up exactly for this sort of thing and should be able to arrange a scan for you.

A&E won’t really be able to do anything unless the bleeding is really heavy or you are having a lot of pain.
