Pregnant and hate the thought of telling people!!

Hi does anyone else dread telling people your expecting again due the reaction you get! This isn't our first baby and the reaction we got last time was absolutely disgusting, why should we be made to feel that its wrong that we have choose to have another child! And i wouldn't mind if anyone else had our kids or offered to help us out but they don't, especially think it's wrong that your own family reacts this way. Anyone else had similar? Sorry for the post i just need to let it out!!!

Who is it that reacted negatively last time? What was their reason for doing this?

Sorry that you are feeling this way. We are not really in a similar position but we have been open about wanting children for a long time so I don't think anyone would dare!

I also dread telling people we're pregnant.

It just open up conversations that I just don't want to have. I don't want people's advjce and birth stories. I've had a baby before and know what I'm doing.

At the moment the one I hate is now dd has started school, all the playground mums constantly ask how sick I am and my due date.

I barley know these people! Why would I want to tell you about my throwing up, sleepless nights and body functions.

My husbands mum, her face says it all eyes roll the lot, last time she told us we had to tell the rest of the family due to her embarrassment!

There must be a back story to this. Normal families don’t react the way yours do

There must be a backstory normally families don't react like this so it's actually a little bit weird

This is interesting as I would like to try for a forth and final baby but nowadays fournis seen as sooo many?! Anyone else agree...I take it that's what we're on about here . I say stuff em. It's u raising them . Ur babies ur business

My family haven't reacted like this but certain people at work think I have got pregnant just to have time off work! I could slap them! How dare they suggest I would bring a child in to the world to get time off work and that I have not done it because me and my partner want to be parents!!!

People that react like this are most likely jealous so I wouldn't worry. It only matters what you think and feel and nobody else.

Some people get bitter when you have what they want and don't know how to be happy for you.

@katie23913 I've had that before too! Surely they don't actually believe you would make such a life changing decision just for a few months off work!
@mummsy2018 Had some negative reactions when we told DP family. Certain members thought DP had "ruined his life"

3 years later and were pregnant again, it does put you off telling them. A tiny petty part of me doesn't want to tell them until birth 😂

I'm currently expecting number 5 and completely sympathise. People think it is their right to pass judgement but it is your life and if you are happy it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
My grandparents have actually decided I'm no longer welcome In the family because of this, as I'm not married

Congratulations! Even if this is baby number 19, genuine heartfelt congratulations! I could only understand a reaction like this if the other 18 had all been neglected/removed. Doesn’t sound like that’s the case so don’t let them steal your joy.
