Hi Everyone! I feel like I’m freaking out so just wanting others opinions.
Last Thursday at 7 weeks 4 days I had some spotting. Midwife booked me an early scan for Friday which was internal and baby’s heart was beating like a champ! All looked perfect. 2 hours later I had a heavy bleed. I’m seeing gynaecology tomorrow for hopefully another scan. I bled red blood for around an hour and now it’s turned to very dark almost brown spotting which is very watery but with little flakes of like broken up clot or thicker spotting. Any experiences of anything similar much appreciated! A&E seemed pretty convinced it was from the internal and I have a sensitive cervix but I can’t stop worrying. Confused

Unfortunately it is difficult for anyone to reassure you as it could have gone both ways. Some people have heavy bleeding and a successful pregnancy, some it leads to a miscarriage.

Everything crossed you get a positive outcome.

Agree with PP. It really does depend. I sadly had a heavy bleed which resulted in miscarriage, though I've heard of people experiencing the same and going on to have a successful pregnancy.

I would be worried if you had this amount of bleeding from an internal. Spotting yes. Heavy, clotted blood, no.

You need another scan OP. Any bleeding should be investigated regardless of whether you have had a scan already or not!

Best of luck x

I’ve only just had a bit of broken down clot this evening (which is dark almost brown) . The initial bleeding was just like red watery blood pouring out, no clotting whatsoever.

Fingers crossed!
Thanks you xxx

Not all bleeding is bad. I bled at 10w with #4, she's now 3.
Fingers crossed for you

UPDATE

All is completely fine with baby. I have something called a bicornuate uterus which means it’s heart shaped. Baby is growing on one side however the other side is still getting lots of blood flow too although there is no baby that side to absorb it so every now and then it will release the blood causing a bleed. I’ve been told to expect bleeding up to around 14 weeks. Most importantly baby is doing totally fine and growing as expected! ❤️
