I'm 29 weeks and iv noticed the hair on my tummy is darker.. not getting hairier just the hair that's always there as gotten really dark.

Obviously nothing I can do about it and it's just another delightful pregnancy quirk - but it's so unsightly.

I definitely had a snail trail when I was pregnant, got hairy and darker. But I'm glad to say that it all went after I had my DS and I'm actually less hairy than I was before I got pregnant!

I’ve noticed this but the hair on my legs is barely growing at all! I shave every 2 weeks! Mad

kmreeve · 18/11/2018 18:04

@le42 god I wish.. my leg hair can be shaved in the morning and back by the evening Angry

@kmreeve it isn’t normally like this!! 😂 trust me

Celebelly · 18/11/2018 18:35

I'm 28 weeks and have noticed this over the last couple of weeks! I usually have very fair hairs on my stomach, but they've really darkened and are quite visible now. Pregnancy is so glamorous!

SuperstarDJ · 18/11/2018 21:52

@Le42 - I’ve noticed this too. My legs, armpits and arms are gloriously soft and smooth and I only have to shave my legs once every 3-4 weeks and even then it’s only to get rid of very soft, short and sparse stubble. It’s bizzare.

I was the same when pregnant with DD1 so I know that unfortunately it doesn’t last - legs were back to normal a few days after she was born.

LuvSmallDogs · 18/11/2018 21:58

I’ve always been hairier than average, but three pregnancies have turned me into a bloody werewolf! This pregnancy my preexisting treasure trail has widened into a treasure motorway!

Tadda · 19/11/2018 02:22

I haven't been able to see anything below my belly button since I was 25 weeks, so god knows what's going on down there in the hair department!

Merrz · 19/11/2018 09:34

LuvSmallDogs Grin that made me LOL!
My belly is definitley hairier than normal but haven't noticed it any darker, like you though Superstar my leg hair is none existent though!
I have heard that increased hair growth during pregnancy = boy and less hair growth = girl??

kmreeve · 20/11/2018 08:04

@Merrz - I'm having a girl and my legs look like I'm trying to break into the gorilla enclosure at the local zoo!!

LOL kmreeve maybe that old wives tale isn't very reliable then!

Tadda · 21/11/2018 03:58

(I'm having a girl too- have developed 'hobbit toes'! Didn't even know you could grow hair there- !)

Rachelover40 · 21/11/2018 04:42

You'll get back to normal after you have your baby, trust me. Hormones do all sorts.
