Hi all,
Went yesterday for my 24 week check up with the midwive (im expecting my first child march 2019). She measured my stomach and told me im measuring slightly smaller then average. She also monitered my baby's heartbeat and all was clear and fine with that. So now she has booked me in for another scan next week Tuesday to check baby is developing alright. I also admitted to the midwife that I dont eat a lot and she instructed me to eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day, I just wondered if there are other women that have been in this situation?? And how did you cope/manage? Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks!

Hi, my bump measured a bit small the first time they measured it, it was just under the 10th percentile. Went for the scan and the baby was actually the 90th percentile. The tape measure method mainly just gives an idea. Once they saw on the scan that the baby was a good size they just made sure that the growth followed a steady line when measuring with a tape measure.

Hope it goes well for you try not to worry xxx

I had almost no bump until 27 weeks then one morning I woke up and there it was. Baby measured on 50th centile at last appointment. Midwife said some people just have strong stomach muscles and not to stress about size of bump too much!

I had a meeting at work where I discussed who would be taking over from me the following month...someone asked, 'where are you going?' I gave them an odd look and said I was going on maternity leave -the person was astonished to hear that I was pregnant! The thing is, at that meeting I was already 34 weeks pregnant , I just had a tiny bump Grin

I had a growth scan which showed reduced fluid, hence the small bump, so they monitored me and finally decider to induce me a few weeks later- but I went into labour spontaneously anyhow. DS is now 12 and the same height as me, clearly it did him no harm....

I was getting into my size 12 fitted suit when I was 24 weeks with twins. The bump didn’t really come out until the eighth month

Don't worry this is normal. I was measuring very small at this stage, I didn't get referred for a growth scan for this as midwife said it's normal for some people to be smaller as long as bump is growing. My bump was tiny until 34 weeks when I got referred for a growth scan for rapid growth as I jumped from just over the 10th percentile to the 90th! Baby was fine and came out average size and weight. You will be fine xx

I've only just outgrown my normal clothes at 28 weeks. Whilst its great the midwife is seeking additional tests I really wouldn't worry.

Bump size can vary so much from person to person ;and pregnancy to pregnancy hopefully you will get some reassurance from the scans. When you say you’re not eating much, is that normal for you or is
It a sickness/pregnancy thing?
