Hi, i am currently 7+ weeks pregnant with my second child. I am having a gestational scan on 25th June which i think is rather early. Has anyone else had one this early before? With my first child i only had one scan and that was at 16 weeks. Although i am excited at the prospect of this i am so scared incase there is nothing there. Although i have been having horrendous pregnancy symptoms. I don't know about anyone else but i am more scare second time around.xx

Round ehre they scan you at between 10 and 12 weeks for dating purposes and then again at 20 for anomaly scan.

I had 2 scans early due to pain and checking it wasn't an eptopic

It just seems a bit bizarre it's so early. The doc must know what he is doing i suppose

can you ask to delay the scan until 12 weeks? just seems a bit pointless scanning so early when you have no reason ..........

Will speak to the doc tomorrow to find out why it's so early. When i took the form in they appeared to be used to doing them and said they usually do it after 7 weeks

I had one at 4+3 and 6+3. They will be able to see bean and hopefully heartbeat. Also will confirm in the uterus too rather than ectopic.

This is my first pregnancy and I had my first scan at 6 weeks which is totally standard for where I live, and then another one at 8 weeks as the doctor wanted to DOUBLE check he definately saw the heartbeat at the scan before, and then a scan at 12, 16, 20 weeks. If ther's no risk in having the early scans, then why not - it was great for me and DH to see such an early scan and helped the pregnancy feel more 'real' especially for DH who wasn't eperiencing any of the symptoms - I knew I was pregnant!!!! ....plus I am so impatient I think I would have burst to wait until 12 weeks to see bean for the first time!

The doc sent off for me to have an early scan to check it wasn't ectopic due to prior gyn history. Have you any ops down there or probs with periods?

Hi I has a difficult pregnancy and birth with my first baby and she ended up being born by cesarean. But at the beginning of march i did have to have my coil removed under general anaesthetic as it had moved and got lodged at the top of my womb, so whether he is worried because of that, he never said so
