Cute ways to tell family over Christmas?

So at Christmas we will only be around 9 weeks. We would rather wait til after our 12 week scan to announce but both our families like a drink and a party and will know straight away if I'm not drinking .

So I'm thinking about doing something cute for Xmas day, or maybe even a few days before , but not sure what ! Was thinking of the little 'fill your own baubles' but not sure what to put in ? Any other ideas?

(I know some people don't agree with announcing at Christmas but it's only to grandparents really, so not going to upset anyone)

You could put a scan pic in a bauble and silently hang it on their Christmas tree - wait for them to notice it. Or fill your own Christmas crackers with tiny baby related things like a dummy, a best grandma keyring, etc. Or hang a stocking next to your bigger ones. Or get your dp to take a family photo - but instead of saying three, two, one cheese, say three, two one Regina is pregnant!

Buy them Christmas cards/gift with gran/grandma on it?

Do you have other DC? I planned on buying DS a football strip with big brother on the back and having him show the grandparents the football strip he got for Christmas!

Congratulations OP.

I would expect that being only 9 weeks, you probably wouldnt have had a scan yet, so maybe buy each couple a bottle of drink with a personalised label, announcing the birth. I know 'Getting Personal Ltd' have a Merry Christmas one which then allows you to add your own message. (bottle of Cava £19.99). I have just done this (not to announce a birth, but just as a christmas prezzie). There are quite a few companies that offer this service. (and before anyone asks - no I do not have any association with this company - was just using them as an example).

Thanks for the suggestions! Yeah I won't have had a scan by then or I'd use that some how. Unless we have a private one but I don't see OH letting me spend money on one lol

I have other children so getting things work Gran etc wouldn't work ! Unless I just sign cards from 'the bump'

I'd seen these photo calendars in Tesco I'm thinking about getting, I thought i could put photos in and then on the due date month instead of a photo I could put a 'coming soon' sign and Mark the date on the calendar? I know they'd flick through it when they open them . Any thoughts on that ?

On eBay you can personalise baby grows. What about getting one of them made up and wrapping them up and giving them to family on Xmas day??

I told my parents b4 our scan date with a personalised baby grow stating Baby onestep due July. 😊

I managed to make a couple of these so cheaply and I'm so happy with how they turned out ! These will be for my parents as we won't see them Christmas day so going to wrap them in a gift box !
I'm still planning to do the calendar thing for my in laws as we will be there when they open it ! So excited
