Hi, I’m 41 weeks plus 2 days and I’ve woken up with a bit of blood, it’s quite watery so I’m not sure if it’s another show ( I had one last Monday but was just the gel). I’ve got a little lower back pain and can feel baby moving about inside but not sure if it’s labour starting or not. I’ve posted pics ( sorry TMI) but just want to make sure it’s nothing to worry about or that I need to call labour ward) I’m sat up playing games on the iPad at the mo and going to check again in half an hour if any more blood.

If it's watery it's more likely to be your waters leaking. I'd suggest ringing the labour ward - those back pains could be labour starting. Good luck !

Thanks @birdie6 do u think it’s worth me waiting half hour to check again if any more watery blood and then calling or call straight away?

Exciting. It’s definitely something starting isn’t it? I’d call just for advice and reassurance. But your cervix is certainly doing something!! Get bouncing on your ball!

That doesn't look like a show. Looks more like your waters might be gone. As it's blood stained I think you should be going in to be checked out. Keep us posted and good luck

Hi al, I’ve been sent home, the midwife checked me over at birth centre and checked if waters had broke and she said she’s pretty sure it’s a second show and not waters. I have been having some bad back pains tho since the second show so hopefully he will arrive in the next few days :)

I’ve been having bad back pains and period type pains since coming home roughly every 10 mins or so could this be the early start of labour even tho my waters haven’t broken?

Yep. My waters didn't break with any of mine until I was well into labour and with my last 2 they had to break them for me even though I was 8-9cm dilated!

Pickles31 · 17/11/2018 12:54

@marie201 thanks for replying :) hopefully he will be here soon then 👍🏻

It's rare for waters to break before labour starting properly. (My waters broke first but I'm the only person I know who had it that way around).
