Hey all, I’m super lucky to have had a BFP, currently 8 weeks pregnant and the nausea hit at 6 weeks. I dislike ALL food atm, when I don’t eat I’m sick so I need to keep
Eating to keep the sickness at bay. The downside is all I can eat is carbs- and I just read on the internet this puts you at risks for gestational diabetes? Anyone else know if this is ok? I’m usually very active, fit and have a healthy diet. Now I’m barely making the gym, eating carbs and in bed by 8pm ....

Eat what you can, when you can. It shouldn't last long. You can get the diet in check once the nausea subsides.

I am exactly the same, 8 weeks tomorrow and constantly eating bread and pasta. Managing some fruit but that's still carby too.
I figure at this point carbs is better than getting completely malnourished and dehydrated by not being able to stomach anything else.

Eat whatever will stay down!

Gestational Diabetes is more of a “you’ll get it or you won’t” thing. I was a size 16 pre pregnancy and ended up living off crisps and chips for most of the first trimester. I was tested for GD because of my booking weight but the test came back clear.

The nausea subsided eventually, and then you can try some fruit and veg again! X

It's completely normal to crave only carbs for the first trimester. It will pass.

I was told to 'just eat and take the vitamins etc.' by the nurse as I was worried too. She said that to eat whatever will stay down and don't feel guilty. So that's what I've done. I've had a poor appetite and to be honest have eaten a load of crap but apparently that is better than nothing! I keep trying healthy foods and as I get away with it I'm gradually increasing it and decreasing the crap! Bloody hard though - my body hates me lol xxx

Oh gosh me too. 6 weeks and I am surviving on beige food only. Also incapable of exercising as I'm so tired.

Try having things like sandwiches with lots of vegetables inside. I'm trying to eat little and often, with small snacks that are also a bit nutritious for instance I just had half a bagel with humous (told you, beige!) and cherry tomatoes.

I'm definitely going to put on a fair bit of weight in these first 12 weeks, but then it's Christmas so who won't be!?

Thanks all for the replies Smile I feel much more reasssured that it’s not just me. Anything which is not bland or beige makes me feel so much worse. I did not anticipate this bit of pregnancy to be as tricky 🙈 I thought I’d just have nausea in the morning!

Appreciate all your comments!
