Hello! I am 6+2. In the last week my symptoms have really ramped up. I've not been actually sick, but I'm nauseous almost all day, with the occasional burst of desperate hunger and a weird craving for crumpets.

I've gone off coffee, which is good because I know I shouldn't have it. But the combined result of this and the hormones is I'm exhausted. Almost dozing off in meetings. I'm an editor and I have to do a lot of reading and I basically can't keep my eyes open to work.

Any tips on combatting the fatigue? I have been having 1 can of Diet Coke a day for past week, which I know is bad but I'm not sure what I'd do without it. I really want to drop it but I don't know how I can work at this rate.

Thanks in advance!

You can actually have one reasonably sized cup of coffee a day and then basically no chocolate, tea or diet coke, or a certain amount of tea, chocolate and diet coke instead so choose your vices. The NHS website say how much caffeine you are allowed a day with a rough calculation of the amount in each thing.

Regardless the only tip I can give you is just sleep as much as your body says it needs it when you can. So apart from earning a living and/or looking after other small children nothing else is important and you should just go to bed and sleep.

Constant snacking is the only thing that helped me. And if possible, leaving the stuffy office for a burst of fresh air. I’m 14 weeks now and it’s passed. Good luck!

I found I was falling asleep at work until around 14 weeks too! I found that moving around helped (although I really didn't want to!) So lots of trips to the bathroom, to the water cooler (I used a small glass as an excuse to keep filling up) and lots of trips to the kitchen to make lemon and ginger tea as that seemed to perk me up!
